Make duaa to other than Allah is shirk, of course.

But are you sure that duaa was "Yaa America inni as-aluka" not 'Yaa Allahumma inni as-aluka" ?

Assalamu alaykum

Saying Yaa gouse al madad, yaa ali al-madad is shirk.

What about saying "yaa america inni as-aluka".

I am not saying one should not hire a guard. But what is sitting in one's heart.

This question came to my mind based a true incident involving a guard, two American Shia hajees and myself near Raudah-e-nabavi.

I shall not disclose that incident.
Isnt America the Great Satan in which case this might be a form of devil worship

Hmm, hmm, maybe that incident made them very angry to Saudi Arabia, but saying "Yaa America inni as-aluka" is still shirk.

Didn't the Prophet [sallallaahu alaihi wasallam] seek the assistance of the Ethiopian government, which at the time were kuffaar? Was it also shirk?

br. abdul qadir you should be aware of desire of rasulullah (which was put into action) to dispel the major non-islamic religious groups from the arabiqan peninsula. a practice which was maintained (to the best of my limited knowledge) by all the islamic rulers thereafter, that is until the house of saud (may allah improve them, and forgive our shortcomings as well) came to power.

Non-Muslims don't live in Saudi Arabia. They are guest workers. Correct me if I'm wrong, but non-Muslims can come to the Arabian peninsula as visitors and delegates, but not as permanent residents.

bro, american soldiers can hardly count as "visitors"...what say you? and by who's permission do they currently reside in saudi arabia?

you should perhaps read some of the biographies of rasulullah (peace be upon him) that describe this issue in some depth. the book "when the moon split" goes over the above issue in detail and mentions the resettlement of non-muslim tribes in areas outside of the arabian peninsula. this is a serious issue it is for this very reason that the fatwa of mufti bin baz (ra) caused so much controversy in the islamic world (think back to the life of Osama bin laden...).

on a side note brother (and this relates to previous threads you have participated in), it is understandable that one can be very opinionated on certain subjects but brother please try to maintain respect and remember that insulting/verbally abusing or offending your fellow muslims is a most grievious offence. if you fell very strongly on a topic, pause compose your thoughts in a respectful manner then continue on. you can share your opinions, but for allah's sake do it in a respectful manner and avoid gheebah, do your really want to spend your time eating the flesh of the "lazy" ulema you speak so lowly of?

also, and this applies to everyone including myself, remember that there is an ocean of knowledge out there (islamic and otherwise) which we have not had the pleasure or opportunity to have been exposed to and perhaps never will, allah knows best. therefore it is extremely important that we not jump to conclusions on issues prematurely. firstly none of us can say that we are learned scholars, secondly realize that there are differences of opinions between the muslims in areas of fiqh but we should not react to these by denouncing each other.

i encourage everyone to watch this video. and please don't dismiss the video simply because ot the channel it's on or the person who is peaking. please.
