What are some good books written by scholars from the Shafii school? I am in the process of picking a madhad (I reverted last year and am now comfortable with it) and am very interested in this school. ![]() As the brother mentioned above, first check out which Madhab is dominant in your region, also check if Shafi'i mosques and imams are common or not. Its better to follow the Madhab followed by the scholars of your locality, so you can get the better guidance. All four Madhabs are valid. So no worries. ![]() Allah knows best. |

Al-Maqasid is another good one, but it's basically just a very condensed version of Reliance. Both books are translated by Shaykh Nuh Ha Mim Keller. |

Tuhfathul-Ikhwan is a good book on shaf'i' fiqh that contains all the basic
material required for a beginner without going into lengthy detail. It was originally written in urdu by an Indian Alim and has been translated into english by Moulana Yousuf Karaan of South Africa, and published by Waterval Islamic Institute. However, I do not know where it is available outside SA. |
