slaam
so i have missed many years of salah. so i would like to ask the following 1.) from what age would you have to make up for missed prayers? 2.) when doing the intention would i have to make intention for the specific day. or can i just say "i intend to say 4 fard rakats of salatul qada..." in other words would would i say for the intention. as doing qada for a specific day seems somewhat complicated 3.) im guessing qada cannot be prayer in the disallowed times such as after asr. would this be correct? thank you jazakallah |

![]() You should estimate the total number of missed Salaah and write them down. For example you have missed 200 Fajr Salaah. After you have made Qadha then mark off how many you have made up for. In that manner you may do for the other Salaah. If you cannot remember the exact number of missed Salaah, you must apply your honest discretion and resolve an amount. You intention when making the Qadha should be that I am performing the last Fajr (for example) which I have missed, then the next and so forth until you make the Qadha for all the Salaah (Tahtaawi Page 446) And Allah knows best Wassalam Muhammed Zakariyya Desai, Checked and Approved by: Mufti Ebrahim Desai Darul Iftaa, Madrassah In'aamiyyah http://askimam.org/fatwa/fatwa.php?a...15b18330ac7dd1 |

slaam 1. From the time you reached the age of puberty (baaligh). Any Salaah missed from this point onwards is regarded as qadha and will have to be made up for. 2. Just make intention of 2 farz of fajr or 4 farz zohr etc.. You don’t have to make niyyah for a specific day or date. 3. Qadha cannot be performed in the disallowed (makruh) times The easiest way to complete qadha salaah is to calculate how many years of missed salaah you have. Then fix a start date for example 1st June 2011. From then on read one days qadha salaah every day If you have 1 years qadha you will be over at the end of May 2012. In this way there is no need to keep a chart and tick off as you go along. Of course you have to make sure you don’t skip a days salaah in between. To make it easy you could also leave out the sunnat e ghair muaqqada and read qadha salaah instead. Make a note of your start date and end date so you will know when to stop. |

3. Qadha cannot be performed in the disallowed (makruh) times ![]() Can you please provide a source for this as i have been told it is ok. From a quick search the brother in this thread stated the following. http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/show...l=1#post568675 From Mukhtasar al Quduri: [It is disliked to perform voluntary prayers after fajr salah until the sun rises, and after `asr salah until the sun sets. There is no harm in praying missed prayers during these two times, [and similarly] performing prostrations of recitation, and praying over a funeral. One does not perform the two rak`ah of circumambulation (tawaf). One should not perform optional prayer before maghrib.] ![]() |

It's in Bahishti Zewar. will post link once I get it ![]() Just looked through the Taleemul Haq and it says "No Nafl salat to be performed between Asr and Maghrib except the Qadhaa and Janazah salat" Look on page where the namaz chart is if you have one handy. Can be seen online here: http://www.inter-islam.org/Actions/P...l#Namaaz Chart Not trying to find fault in your post brother as im not very knowlegable myself but genuinely one to find out answer to this question as i have asked before and been told it is permissible but every so often i meet people who say NO namaz can be performed between Asr and Maghrib. ![]() |

3. There is no stipulated time for qada salaat. Whenever one gets the opportunity, one should make wudu and offer salaat. However, one should take the makruh times of salaat into consideration. But having checked with a mufti the makruh times mentioned here are at the time of sunset, zawwal and sunrise. So you are right qadha can be read after asr and after fajr but not at the time when the sun is setting or rising or at zawwal. Jazakullah for bringing it to my attention |
