Default Need help finding a hadith and its explanation...
There is a hadith that talk about how people would wake up as a Muslim and go to sleep as a disbeliever. I think it is in Sahih Muslim or Abu Dawud. Does anyone know where I can find the full hadith and an explanation of what the hadith means?

Abu Hurayrah reported that Nabi (saw) said “Woe to the Arabs for the great evil which is nearly approaching them, it will be like patches of dark night. A man will wake up as a believer and be a kaafir by nightfall. People will sell their deen for a small amout of worldly goods. The one who clings to his deen on that day will be as one who is grasping a burning coal or thorns.” (AHMAD [2/390])

Abu Moosa al Ashari reported that Nabi (saw) said "Before the hour comes there will be a fitnah like the patches of dark night. A man will get up a believer and go to sleep a kaafir, or will go to sleep a believer and get up a kaafir. The one who sits will be better than one who stands, and one who stands will be better than one who runs. Break your bows, cut their strings and strike your swords against stones. If someone comes to kill any of you then be like the better of the two sons of Adam." (ABU DAWOOD)

On the authority of Abdullah bin Omar(RA). Once the Sahabah were seated with the Prophet (saw) and he (saw) began to relate to them some of the fitan (trials and tribulations) the Ummah will face. Then he (saw) said, “Then will come to you the fitna of the Duhayma, it will not leave any one of you from this Ummah except that it will reach them all, and when they say that the fitna has ended, it will increase, at that time a man will awake as a Muslim but will go to sleep as a Kaafir until all the people will become divided into two (clear) camps; the camp of Imaan, wherein there is no hypocrisy and the camp of hypocrisy, wherein there is no Imaan (belief). When this occurs, await the Dajaal on that day or shortly afterwards.” (Sunan Abu Dawood, Vol. 2 Pg. 496, Hadith no. 4242)
