Default How to protect the kids from the mass media in the Western Society ?
The media is affecting the Muslim kids as well as the non-Muslim kids. Check this article below
to know how native Americans protect their kids.

THE MEDIA

It is about balance I believe. The media has so twisted this western society that men believe woman will like them if they are cruel (woman like bad boys - those stupid bitches get what they asked for) or rich (often, the same thing).

And men are taught to pursue woman who are loose with their gifts (whoring is good - dumb bastards get what they deserve; right Tiger?).

This is the 'truth' of what the media teaches, from where i sit. In our remote northern communities, we had no 'cable TV' until the early 1990's. Within one year of introducing this **** into our communities child suicide rates trippled and crime rose dramatically.

So some communities have now begun 'monitoring' what is broadcast and now block web content, for the benefit of our families. These children saw those fancy cars , beautiful men and woman, riches beyond compare and then compared that to the reality of their existence, and became confused or 'lost'. We are still working to find some of them.

Maybe all 'men' in the West need to do the same.

First off - the language needs to be checked.

Second, while I agree that men don't need to emulate women, women don't need to emulate men, and we should raise our children ourselves instead of letting the media raise them- that is about all the advice I would take. Native Americans are having a very hard time in this life and it would be better to follow the examples and advice of RasulAllah SAWS and his Sahaba RA.

Native Americans have an extremely high alcoholic rate and 1 in 10 deaths of Native Americans are alcohol related:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26439767...cohol-related/

Native American women face a high rate of rape(1 in 3 will be raped in their life) http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...042502778.html and Native American women face the highest rate of violence of any group in the U.S. http://www.now.org/nnt/spring-2001/nativeamerican.html.

Native American families are almost 50% single parent households with many on welfare and living in poverty http://www.now.org/nnt/spring-2001/nativeamerican.html.

Native Americans also have an extremely high suicide rate and is the 2nd leading cause of death for Native Americans aged 15-34. http://www.religioustolerance.org/sui_fact.htm

So either they aren't following the advice listed in this article, or it's not the best advice. Allahu Alim.

It is not an article by a leader of a nation representing their life-style, nor it is a life-style anecdote of native Americans, rather it is a peace of advice to manhood-less men written perhaps by someone who has some dignity. Brushing the world just by the nationality of a person, isn't Islamic, nor a logical approach.

My response was to the quote in the original post of, "Check this article below to know how native Americans protect their kids."

I agree that some of the advice in the article is helpful as I mentioned in my original post. I'm not sure about the "dignity" part as someone with dignity and self respect has respect for others and wouldn't need to call women "b's" or men "b's." I've never met a man or woman with dignity who did so, but I haven't met everyone on the earth so maybe there are some who call people curse words and retain their dignity?

I'm also not trying to brush the world by nationality and am aware of the misguidance of doing so. May Allah SWT forgive me if I ever do this. The links I posted were (again) in reference to "how Native Americans protect their kids" and "Maybe all 'men' in the West need to do the same." The proof, as they say, is in the pudding. If I see a positive example, I will take from it and recommend it insha Allah. Even if I see a negative example and someone tells me, "this is how I got here, so don't do what I did" then I would take from and recommend that as well.

However, given the sad statistics, I would take the positive advice of the article but wouldn't attribute it to "how Native Americans protect their kids" or suggest all 'men' of the West to follow their example, though I would follow some of the advice of the article.

Allahu Alim.
