If you can, then go for 40 days jamat, and then spend 3 days in khanqah. And next time go for 40 day khanqah (if the sheikh allows) and then go for 3 days Jamat.

But if you can have a say in it, make a 40 day jamat and visit khanqahi masajid!

I would advise you to go first in 40 days Jam'at.

20 days jamaat first and from there go directly to a khanqah and do 20 days there.

but if you can then do 40 days jamaat first then 40 days kahnqah straight afterwards.

Depends on you brother. Where are you from? How old are you? Have you spent time previously in Jamat? Are you connected to a Shaykh?

if its first time ever, then i would say go 40 days in jamat, as when you will be in jamat for long time it will be more easier to keep yourself in such environment and get habit of it. and if not its your first time, then divide the time or go in place where you feel more need for you. aint a big deal, may Allah make your time useful and ours too.

Islahh is wajib, hence khanqah then tabligh.

It really depends upon how much time you've already spent in Jama'at or in a Khanqah in your life. If you've not spent any 40-days in either of them, then I would suggest to spend 40-days in Jama'at as it is a more natural and easier way to getting used to Deeni environments. Wallahu 'Alam.

Also, which Khanqah were you considering?

Going in Jamaat is not entirely giving dawah to others, it is for Self-Islah and Tableegh should be given first priority than Khanqah as Jamaat contains Self Islah + Dawah......

Go where you feel most comfortable. Not everyone can do tableegh, similarly not everyone is willing to sit in a khanqah. If you're willing to do both (and loads do), then go where it's feasible at the moment and then the other.

Assalamu alaykum

Both Tableegh and khanqah are for Islaah.

Brother, you can meet the shaykh in the khanqah and also elders of the tableegh of your masjid and ask them what you get with your stay in khanqah and going in tableeg. Then you are in a better position to decide.

If you are connected to a Shaykh already, then you should take his mashwara.

Ask the people who are atqiyaa and know your situation better than us, they can give you an answer with more understanding.

Siraj bhai good reply. Pls call me tomorrow post lunch.

I would request the brother to go in the. khurooj. The solution to all the masail of deeni & dunyawi issues lies in the effort of dawate. It is because of the effort of dawate that Allah Ta'ala had broken so many baatil and fitnah's. If this effort has so much impact on the baatil then will it not able to do our Islah?

Maulana Saad Sahab db always says that the dua which is made after performing the ghust of our masjid will be far appealing in front of Allah Ta'ala. Because while giving dawah, one has to undergo/face plenty of mujahida.

Doing the work of dawat is fard-e-ain. It is the responsibilty of each and every ummati.

During ramadan a jamate from medina had come to india. One brother ask them, that every muslim wish to perform ummrah during ramadan and strive to visit mecca and medina for it, but your jamate had left such fazail and had came to india in khurooj?
The arab brother replied that the fazail/virtues of spending one morning and evening in khurooj is far more then a person offering tahajjud salah in haram sharif during the night of laylatul-qadr in the month of ramadan. That fazail of going in the path of Allah Ta'ala had motivated us to leave our home.

Maulana Saad Sahab always says " infa-ra-di amaal ka mountain, ijtemayi amaal ke particle ke barabar nahi he".

But doing one's own Islah is farz.

Otherwise it may happen that ,"saari duniya ki hain fikhar, aur khud se be-khabar".
