I am a female non muslim who will be joining a road convoy which is leaving in June 2011 to Gaza in the Palestinian territories. The aim of the convoy will be to set up the Samouni Family Community Centre/Classroom.

As you may be aware, nearly 30 members of Al Samouni family were killed, including 10 children and 7 women during an Israeli incursion in the Zeitoun district of Gaza in 2009 - so-called "operation Cast Lead"

The aim of this convoy will be to attempt to break the siege which is taking place against the people of Gaza and bring valuable aid and assistance to the many Palestinian people who are still suffering as a result of the illegal Israeli blocakde.

I have contacted you because I am hoping that the Muslim community may be able to assist any any small way with respect to either financial contributions or equipment as listed within the first link such as blankets, books, school equipment, etc. I am attempting to raise the pre-requisite £500 needed in order to volunteer for this mission and any assistance from the Muslim community would be warmly welcomed.
