Who is superior? Shaykh Gibril, after listing the best human beings after Prophets (beginning with the khulafa), writes:

As for Ahl al-Bayt such as our Mothers the wives of the Prophet and al-Sayyida Fatima and her two children, they are in a class apart with the Prophet .

It's true that the mothers of believers and Fatima bint Muhammad peace be upon them are respected and revered by even the biggest of the companions such as Abu bakr (ra) and al-Zubair (ra)... However keep in mind not all of Ahlul-Bayt hold the same rank and position, for Example 'Abdullah Ibn al-Abbas (ra) is from Ahlul-bayt but does not hold a position greater than that of Talha (ra), another example: Ali (ra) was from Ahlul-Bayt but does not hold a position as high as 'Umar (ra), Another example: Some of the children of Abu Lahab who adopted Islam ('Utbah and Mu'utib) are from Ahlul-Bayt but they do not hold a status as high as Abu 'Ubeidah (ra).

The religion is clear.
