Bombay's one of a Senior Dawat Wa Tabligh worker and a very close friend of mine and also family physician - Dr. ASif Abdul Karim Chunawala and his entire family died yesterday in a Helicoptor Crash in Tewang District , Arunachal Pradesh, India. He was accompanied by his wife 2 daughters and a son.

Dr. Asif was an very active Tablighi Worker and was very instrumental in changing the life of 1000's of people not only in India but also in other parts of the world. He was a practising Homeopath Doctor wherein prople flonged to his clinic in Andheri (W) from far reaching areas.I have even seen him treating poor patient free of cost and also incurring his others diagnostic expenses.

His absence has left a lull in the work of Tabligh work . May ALLAH (SWA) fill his place with 1000 Dr. Asif in his place. Ameen !

Yesterday, when I learn about Dr Asif bhai's incident I went in deep shock.

Asif bhai had special attachment with our masjid.
Mashallah Allah Ta'ala had undertaken lot of effort thru him locally and globally. He was hailing from a very well to do memon family. The story about the reaction of his family when he went for the first time in khurooj is very famous. Alhamdulillah because of his steadfastness his entire family is now engaged in the noble work of TJ.

His face was very noorani and beautiful. He was very humble and a true "daee". He use to prefer to take his 40days/4mnth jamate to remote areas like Assam, Bengal,etc.

In 2001 during my 40 days khurooj, it was he who had done my tashkil to extend it to 4months. Alhamdulillah he succeeded in convincing our other saathi's also.

Once when jamate from our college was stationed in his masjid (Jaali-wali, Andheri), he had utilised all our saathi's in the amaal of dawate. In the vicinity of his masjid, muslims are residing at scattered location. He had maintained the database of muslims brother very comprehensively and accurately. He use to send jamate of one new and one old brother and gave them the address, with the road name, bldg name, room name details and instructing them to go and meet that person and give dawate. He use to do muzakira among our saathi's after fajr for long hours. Every member of our jamate had learned a lot of things from him.

He use to tell that when their masturat jamate had gone to Canada in 90's, they came across a place where muslim brothers use to offer Juma salaat on Sundays. When they enquired, they said, since Arab countries have their week off's on friday therefore they are offering their juma salat on their weekoff i.e on Sunday.

we are having biannual mashora of mumbai circle on 23rd/24th april at jogeshwari markaz. His sudden demise will have effect on every brother.

May Allah grant steadfastness to his extended family and count him and his wife and kids among the Shuhada'.
