Asallam Alekum ,
i want to ask if i did wrong i hve an uncle whose very ill in hsp ,Alcohol ruined hes life ,and it looks like hes not going to make it beeidnillah .Sumtyme when i visit him hes all right and chatty and sumtyme like today he was very confused and he kept repeating wht i was saying ...yaani everything i was saying .he does belive in God .inshort hes not a muslim ,hes asked me on 1 occasion about islam and i briefy explained about islam ,but since hes very ill he cant talk much ,sort off like dozing off in between .today i said the shahada and he reapeated after me every word by word of the shahada ,now would tht make him a muslim or must i wait till he getts better inshallah or hve i dne wrong

Without fulfilling the conditions of the shahada - knowledge, certainty, sincerity, etc. - it is believed that it will not be accepted. But Allah knows best.

Keep trying sister, dont wait for another day. Especially since he is in a bad condition. Only Allah can judge his sincerity. Just tell as much about the Mercy of Allah to him and make him understand the meaning of shahadah as much as you can. And make lots of Dua for him. Do your part, and He will be guided in the right path if Allah wills.
