AWW.
I am currently studying R.E (religious education) at school in year 11. I have an exam coming up in a few weeks In the classroom, generally in my exercise book i would write 'god' or 'the prophet' as opposed to 'Allah' or 'Muhammad' however in the exam i would have to write the latter. I am worried in case this will be a sin on my behalf in case the exam booklet is disrespected (i.e. not put in a high place, or put on the floor) Also if i write something which is against Islam as my personal view in order to gain marks (even though i don't believe it's true) will i be sinful. For example i have had a question in the past: Do you think it is okay to drink alcohol? Give 2 reasons I answered by first disagreeing with the drinking of alcohol however as i was pushed for time i wrote 'it is okay to drink alcohol as jesus drank wine in the last supper' This is clearly not my belief however i wrote this as i panicked As the above was a practise question in the classroom i later explained to my teacher that this is not personal view... Will i be sinful, if i did the same as the above in my final exam? |

I'm in Year 11 too.
When you're in the exam you can use Christianity and your second religion (which would obviously be Islam). It is alright to talk about Christianity because you have to look at their beliefs. Instead of writing "Jesus drank wine", write "Christianity tells us that Jesus drank wine". You always have to refer to the religions unless told other wise. For example if it says "give your opinion" don't use religious quotes unless it also says use religious ideas. Also, I would write Muhammad and Allah in the exam but it doesn't really make a difference. I'm sure they don't put it on the floor or anything anyway, but you can choose what do you yourself because you won't lose any marks. |
