Could we list here the names of the Sheikhs of Tazkiyah/Tasawwuf in Toronto and its vicinity, along with the name of tareeqah they follow?

Shaykh Muhammad Zakariya Patel (daamat barakaatuhum)
14 LADYSMITH AVE
Toronto, Ontario M4J 1M7, Canada
Chisti Tariqa

A mureed wrote the following about him:

Shaykh Muhammad Zakariya ibn Ismail (db) began his journey of seeking traditional knowledge at a very early age. Travelling to Darul Uloom al-Arabiyyah al-Islamiyyah in the city of Holcombe, Bury in northern England, he would stay for over a decade beginning his studies with the memorization of the Holy Quran, which he completed at a tender age. Upon completing his memorization he began the study of arabic, jurisprudence and other Islamic sciences comprising the madrassa syllabus. During his final year he completed the six canonical collections of hadith [Sihah al-Sitta] under the tutelage of several masters including Shaykh Yusuf ibn Sulayman Motala (db), Shaykh Islam ul-Haqq (db) and, his uncle, Shaykh Hashim (db) all senior students of the hadith master Shaykh Muhammad Zakariyya al-Kandhlawi (rah).

Shaykh Zakariya (db) grew up in a household of immense piety having had the honour of staying with and serving some of the leading ulema of the Indian sub-continent. During the course of his studies he also travelled to places throughout the Muslim world and was able to meet many of the foremost scholars from whom he derived great benefit such as his father in-law Shaykh Abdur Rahim ibn Sulayman Motala (db).

He currently resides in Toronto serving as the Imam of Masjid al-Taqwa where he holds lessons in Islamic spirituality as well as weekly gatherings of knowledge. He has honorary khilafat from Maulana Yusuf Motala (db) and Maulana Abdur Raheem Motala (db)

I can vouch for this shaykh. It is very ajeeb that the respected shaykh at such a young age has achieved so much. But what can be expected when he is from a whole household of auliya. His respected father is a big time tablighi and a khalifah of maulana motala. The first thing the shaykh remembers from his childhood is his father doing the barah tasbeeh on his bed. His uncle is maulana hashim who saw dreams about him from childhood. His shaykh who he has khilafat from is maulana yusuf motala. His father in law is maulaana abdur raheem motala.....his nephew is the famous scholar mufti abdur rahman bin yusuf. He is also related to mufti shabbir the famous muhaddith and many many other ulema/awliya. His mother would scribble out the pictures from kellogs cornflakes even when he was a little child....so imagine in that environment he was brought up.

I had the pleasure of being in the company of one of his mureeds. In my many years I have met many many people....but few will have won my heart like that particular mureed....

Anyway please go and visit the shaykh inshallah you will not be disappointed...

Except for Qari Abdurrasheed, I think the rest of the shuyookh are of the chishti silsila.
Qari Abdurrasheed is a khalifah of Hazrat Moulana Zulfiqar Ahmed Naqshbandi. I don't think he is an Imam or a teacher at any Darul uloom so I assume his programs are conducted in his house. He lives in Flemingdon Park.

Any contact info of Qari Abdur Rasheed sahab?

salam.

First and foremost I would like to say that db stands for daamat barkaatuhum which means keep his burkat everlasting and is used for someone who is still alive in this world. Molana Islam-Ul-Haq saheb had passed away quiet a few years ago.

Second I would like to say is that Alhamdullilah I have had the chance to study by Qari Abdul Rasheed since he teaches kids how to read the quraan and I have also read by Molana Zakariya Patel both of whom are very great personalities. So whomsoever of you will go to any of the Shaikhs mentioned in previous posts with the right intention then Inshallah he will be guided by Allah through these shaikhs.

And also Molana Zakariya has also got I'jaazat of his blessed uncle Hazrat Molana Hashim Saheb (daamat barkatuuhum)

The only thing is, i am not looking into Chishti tareeqah, the one he follows.

What is wrong with Chisti tareeqah ? Your main concern should be the purification of the heart which can be done through any valid tareeqah. If you find a good sufi shaykh who is compatible with your temperament , then you should make bayah with him and start obeying his instructions.

However, a great way of knowing Chisti tareeqah is reading the biographies of the chisiti sufi saints as mentioned in the following book.

I don't think he is stating that he dislikes a tareeqah. I think he just prefers another tareeqah. Sometimes you have a natural, often unexplained, preference for one thing over another.
