I think it is really unfair to pick on the old shaykh while we find such stuff with other contemporary sufis.

That is a double-edged sentence you have utterred. Why must we respect someone who blatantly acts with disregard for the sunnah? Why must we respect someone who shows little reverence to the shari'ah?

Similarly, you and others attack Wahhabi shuyookh left and right so I say that this is hypocrisy at its peak.

If someone calls the sunnah to be bid'ah, I do not have respect for him. If someone calls bid'ah to be sunnah, I do not have respect for him. The pseudo-Salafis are the former, the pseudo-Sufis are the latter.

yes Ilm ul ghaib is only in the authority of Alllah & He told us whom he Choose to disclose it. Already mentioned in following verse.

Allah will not leave the believers in the state in which ye are now, until He separates what is evil from what is good nor will He disclose to you the secrets of the Unseen. But He chooses of His Messengers (For the purpose) whom He pleases. So believe in Allah. And His messengers: And if ye believe and do right, ye have a reward without measure. (3:179)

The link to Kabbani's essay Role of the Shaykh speaks to the eloquent call to suspend rational thought in order to follow the Shaykh. Indeed, not just follow, obey, believe in, submit to.
And the call is a form of religious persuasion which focusses on feelings which lead to the subconscious but continually expects the suspension of rationality.

Whatever your Shaykh says, do not say “muhaqqaq” or “true!” with your tongue. Your heart has to accept. The way is to try to accept what he is telling you without using your mind. Keep faith in what he is telling you.

If your heart does not accept, then you are not going to benefit anything. We have to show our Shaykh, who knows how we sleep even as we sleep, that we truly believe in him. Do you think that our Shaykh is someone like us? Hasha! (God forbid), Once, Grandshaykh said: “If an ant is moving on top of a smooth rock in the West and I am in the East, I can hear her footsteps in my ear as I hear the crack of thunder."

So "our Shaykh" has super senses which transcend human ability?
And it is implied that we are to believe this because we have been ordered to believe in the Ghayb.
But does the Ghayb mean believing in supernatural powers of our Shaykhs?

"We are all under the same Shaykh, and that Shaykh is presently holding all power of this Way in his hand before the Last Days. If you do not know this, we know this. All the power that has been given to Naqshbandi saints from the Prophet (s) has now been pulled out of their hands and placed in Mawlānā Shaykh Nāzim’s hands. Other saints cannot proceed except by way of miraculous power, and the Prophet (s) is no longer accepting to show any miraculous power in the present day. As he has foretold in hadīth, corruption and oppression are exprected to finally govern this world. If you use miraculous power, you will take away that corruption; but that corruption has to reach its ultimate. That is the reason Mawlānā Shaykh Nāzim is patient and more patient. When you see him in reality, at that time all of us are going to melt as salt melts in water. Keep then respect to your Shaykh in your heart.

You are under your Shaykh’s supervision for twenty-four hours. You can never move out of his sight. He is looking at you. He is looking at you when you are moving here and there. Yet this is nothing: he can hear the secrets that come into your heart and the secrets that you keep in the recess of your heart as if it were thunder."

So the Shaykh is withholding stopping munkar until "corruption has to reach its ultimate."

For the weakminded naive one, he may succumb to this. And hence, warning is mandatory.

Hasn't Shaykh Hisham Kabbani been known to say things that are quite contrary to what Shaykh Nazim atually teaches? For one thing Shaykh Nazim vehemently opposes democracy whereas on the other hand Hisham Kabbani has praised democracy. There are general things that you would hear about Shaykh Nazim from Kabbani's followers that you'd never hear from Shaykh Nazim himself. I've heard Shaykh Nazim himself has say on many occasions that he's not an Alim so I don't know why some of his own followers keep insisting that he's infallible.
