I was fortunate enough to spend some time in a majlis with Qari Basheer Ahmed siddiqui saheb db yesterday. Qari sahib is originally from the subcontinent but have been residing in Medinah where they have spend the last 50 years teaching qiraat. Many of the imams in Haramain are students of Qari sahib.

Qari sahib related a aN amazing incident he himself heard from his own ustaad. The ustaad's name escapes me but the ustaad lived to the age of 109 years. The ustaad relates that he went to Uzbekistan once and whilst there he had the desire to go and see the blessed grave of imam Bukhari rah. Whilst there, the city of samarkand experienced a huge storm which brought with it huge amounts of rainfall. On reaching the grave of imam Bukhari, to his astonishment, the ustaad realized the excess rain had removed all the soil from imam bukhari rah grave and the ustaad actually saw the bless body of imam Bukhari rah- full of noor and in its original state. Alhamdulillah, I too had the honour of meeting Qari Saheb in Medina. He sits in a specific place which i cannot recall atm where he teaches students. A South African scholar who took me to meet him once said that Qari Saheb had been offered huge amounts of money to teach at a University. However, he refused and prefered teaching in Masjid Nabwi. May Allah Reward his efforts. Ameen
