I'm quite sure that if asked where Bilal ibn Rabah (RAA) is from, you will all say that he is from Ethiopia. However, can anyone give me definitive proof that he is in fact from Ethiopia and not from Yemen? From what I know, the sources say that Bilal ibn Rabah (RAA) is from a place called Sirah in Yemen.
Al-Hafidh Al-Dhahabi says in his book Siyar A'laam Al-Nubalaa: "What is most apparent is that Bilal isn't Ethiopian." I'm waiting for your responses inshaAllah |

You should put more effort into working on where you will end up rather than where Bilal was from, or what color the Prophet |

Is it ok for you if Bilal (RAA) is called something that he isn't? Why do you find that ok? How do you know what it is that will make you end up wherever you end up? Do you know the story of the women who ended up in Hell for not taking care of a cat? If Bilal (RAA) is from Yemen, should it be said that he is from Ethiopia? Is what is said about a Companion of the Prophet (SAWS) unimportant to you? If so, why? You don't want to know the color of the Prophet (saws)??? Why not? Why did the Companions concern themselves with his description? Are you more pious than they were? If there was piety in not discussing the appearance of the Prophet (saws), the Companions (RAA) wouldn't have discussed it. I don't understand where you all get this idea from. You don't want to know your Prophet (SAWS)??? Why not??? ![]() |

I AM calm brother and I posted my evidence. I said that the sources say that he is from Sirah in Yemen. Ibn Sa'ad mentions this in Al-Tabaqaat Al-Kubra. I also mentioned that Al-Hafidh Al-Dhahabi said in his book Seyar A'laam Al-Nubalaa: ![]() We have a saying in India, "Khoda Pahaad, nikli Choohiya". Translation: "We dug up the mountain.......and unearthed a (she)mouse". Concentrate on the essentials of the Deen instead of staring at your navel in search for an answer to the mysteries of the Universe. By the way, Siyar Alam al Nubala' is not automatically evidence. Wa salam. P.S: There are many good ways to make much more than 10 dollars. Don't tout this religion for it. |

بلال بن رباح مولى أبي بكر ويكنى أبا عبد الله وكان من مولدي السراة واسم أمه حمامة وكانت لبعض بني جمح Ibn Sa'ad says in his book Al-Tabaqaat Al-Kubra: "Bilal ibn Rabah, the servant of Abu Bakr, was called Abu Abdellah and he was one of the servants of Sirah (in Yemen) and his mother's name was Hamaama and she was a slave of one from the clan of Bani Jumah (of Quraish)." قال الحافظ الذهبي: "الاظهر أن بلالا ليس بحبشي" Al-Hafidh Al-Dhahabi says in his book Seyar A'laam Al-Nubalaa: "What is most apparent is that Bilal isn't Ethiopian." |
