wa alaikissalaam warahmatullahi wabarakaatuh ,
Firstly there is no limit if you can get your courage together you could read 100 in a day but a person should try to at least do 1 qaza salaah with every salaah. secondly yes you can first do your fajr salaah , and then start with zuhr and so on. thirdly a person should try to make a estimate , a estimate where he or she has full trust inn that it cant be more then this OR just keep making qazaa till that your heart tells you that this is enough i have for sure prayed all my qazaa. but the first method seems the best. wallahu alam bissawaab |

I have a few questions about qada as well if that's ok Sister Binte Azam? I hope you don't mind. I've read that our fardh salaah are counted first and if they're lacking then our sunnah & nafl salaah are counted. Is it wrong to make sunnah and nafl salaah with the hopes that they would make up your missed salaah? Or do you also need to make qada along with your sunnah salah? 1 more - When do you make your qada salaah if you make them together with your fardh & sunnah? For example: if you make 4 sunnah before Zuhr, 4 fardh, then 2 sunnah - where in that would you make the qada? |

You have to estimate the number of rakats you have missed then pray them all. If you remember that you never prayed fajr when you were 15 then you would count 365 fajr for that year. If you remember that you never prayed zuhr and asr when you were at school then you count the number of school days (about 200 days of classes in a year) of zuhr for that year. If you clearly remember that you didn't wash your feet for wudu for 10 years then ...
You should pray as many as you can every day. I have heard of people reading 700 rakats a day! I know of people doing 80 rakats a day too. You are allowed to pray all fajr first, then zuhr, etc. @BintHajj: You can not pray the sunnah and expect it to cover for the missed fard. In the Hanafi madhab, you have to pray the qada along with the sunnah. You can pray the qada either before or after your regular prayers, it doesn't matter. May Allah grant you tawfiq. If you finish all your qadas, it is a big accomplishment. |
