What is the position on illegitimate children? My friend who is a pious muslim is born out of wedlock. He heard that illegitimate children cannot lead prayers. Is this true? Are there any restrictions on illegitimate children in deen or in dunya?

I remember reading something like this but the condition and 5 or 6 prerquisites does not list this.
It is driven by peity and the action of parents do not render a person less of a muslim.
