Default Horticulture in Islam
Salamu'alaykum,

I want to know what Islam says about planting trees and if there is any reward in it.

I love planting trees and find it fascinating.

Planting trees is a rewarded activity in Islam.

Narrated Anas bin Malik

Allah's Apostle said, "There is none amongst the Muslims who plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, but is regarded as a charitable gift for him."

(Bukhari)

Do you have to start the tree from seed to get the reward or can you just plant a tree that someone else has already started?
