 About Blasphemy
  brothers and sisters in Islam, am new user and hope will learn quite a lot in your air insha'Allah.If someone can helpme out, would be nice of you. 1/-Can we insult (to respond or to take initiative) some believer's prophet or deity? Like can we go for their caricatures and insulting movies? it encompasses all comparative Religions. 2/-we will expect The Same from them as if we insult theirs, they will for sure pay in same coins so If we dont go for such, it will prove that we are respecting our God indirectly, not that we are respecting theirs. Is this the way? 3/-If we are not suppose to insult them, will it encompass the religions which are antithetical to ours, 'SATANISM' and 'WECCA' also? (In fact am having a debate with a Pre-Christian, which is pending due to my reply, please reply me soon with Strong reference if possible. Under the Caricatures discussion he asked me we have the right of Free speech and criticism, its good u will get to know which religion is Real. I said free speech/criticism is one thing and to insult some Prophet/god is another as the believers will feel helplessness and especially when they are not in Power .You are allowed to ask but not to insult, otherwise u will create monsters for yourself..He was really impressed, and then he asked ok, will you give the same Safety or no blasphemy rule to all religions? If yes, will to ''Wiccan and Satanists’' also. If not then it’s not Hypocrisy that you will want Safety of religion only for some and not all?? What Islam says about this? then I donna have answer about this, Please tell me what I should tell him, as to him, I am representing Islam and I scared not to give Wrong information) will much appreciate, your reply,

Assalam-o-alaikum
This needs to be dealt very carefully by someone who have experience. I would make them talk to a scholar or a knowledgeable mutaqi person. Our pious predecessors has discouraged such kind of discussions. Instead one could give them dawah. It is almost impossible to convince someone in an argumentative discussion. In Surah Al-An'am 6: 108 Do not revile (criticize, attack someone in abusive or insulting manner) those whome they invoke other than Allah, lest they should revile Allah in transgression without having knowledge (1) This is how We have made the deeds of every community attractive in their sight. Then, to their Lord is their return, after which He shall tell them what they have been doing [108] (1) The Pagans use to believe in Allah as their creator. As such, it was improbable that they should hurl abuses to Him knowingly and deliberately. However, it was not improbable for them to use blasphemous word against Allah in the heat of alteration. Hence the phrase: 'without having knowledge'. The verse has laid down a principle that a Muslim should not hurl abuses at those revered by other religions. If a Muslim does so and in retaliation, the unbelievers too hurl abuses at the people revered in Islam, the former will be sinful for being a cause of such abuses by the unbelievers. But one should clearly differentiate between abuses and serious criticism. The latter is allowed, though the former isn't. Allah knows the best. WS |

Assalam-o-alaikum brother..so, in short you are to say, we aint suppose to say insulting about Satanists and Wiccans also? for sure they will come with same words back to us...you meant this?  infact brother, I told that Pre Christian by reffering the same verse you mentioned, that You can't even take initiatives in abusing if it were satanists or wiccans because we will expect the same from them..So?? I said wrong then??? if am wrong then please tell me, I will remove the comments from there in, insha'Allaah. |
