I know this isn't an Islamic related question, but helping a muslim brother is Islamic. Is anyone proficient in the above software? I'm supposed to be modelling a composite laminate with a crack running through it, however I spend much of my time procrastinating on Sunniforum. I thought i may as well throw the question out there as you never know I may get lucky and find a Abaqus consultant on here.

wow this program looks ancient, we have moved on to things like autodesk 3ds max and maya here in the 21st century Now I'm no expert, as I've only covered the very basics and I've pretty much been learning as I go along with my thesis. Programs such as Abaqus, Ansys etc. are used to find, for example the critical stress, an area of a component most likely to be permanently deformed or damaged when a load is applied. That's just one of many things that it can do. It can also calculate the energy required to propagate a crack in a component, something which I am doing. |
