I know this isn't an Islamic related question, but helping a muslim brother is Islamic. Is anyone proficient in the above software? I'm supposed to be modelling a composite laminate with a crack running through it, however I spend much of my time procrastinating on Sunniforum. I thought i may as well throw the question out there as you never know I may get lucky and find a Abaqus consultant on here.

wow this program looks ancient, we have moved on to things like autodesk 3ds max and maya here in the 21st century ![]() Now I'm no expert, as I've only covered the very basics and I've pretty much been learning as I go along with my thesis. Programs such as Abaqus, Ansys etc. are used to find, for example the critical stress, an area of a component most likely to be permanently deformed or damaged when a load is applied. That's just one of many things that it can do. It can also calculate the energy required to propagate a crack in a component, something which I am doing. |
