Surah Baqarah (2)

152. Then do ye remember Me; I will remember you. Be grateful to Me, and reject not Faith. By being grateful we obey Allah(SWT).
And obedience to Allah(SWT) is the purpose of our life.
Hence by being grateful we fulfill the purpose of life.

that He (SWT) guided us to be thankful and grateful.

for not having to depend on anyone for help during wudhu...ask those who need help even for istinjaa
for being able to turn sides at night....ask those who need to be turned
for being able to bend enough to put on socks...ask those who have to call someone (or do not have anyone to call)

Alhamdulillaahi Rabbil 'Aalameen for all the blessings we cannot count even if all of us at SF got together to do so!

Alhumdullillaah ya Rabbulalamin for everything,
And for making me turn back to you,
And for giving good health,
And for giving me loving family,
And for giving lots of rizq,
And for making me educated,
And for giving righteous freinds,
And for showing me sf,
And for giving me good businesss,
And for showing me true from what is false,
And for having 3 meals a day,
And for having good dress,
And for showing me the beauty of sunnah,
And for showing me the bad of being proud,
And for showing me the bad of being disobedient to parents,
And for giving good health to my family members,
And for giving me good house to stay,
And for giving me respect despite me being the worst,
And for giving me a respected family,
And ya Rabbulalamin all other things which I know of and which I do not know of, but you give it to me without my asking for it. Ya Rabbulalamin you are the greatest and your treasure is greatest. Ya Rabbulalamin make me of your thankful servant.
And ya Rabbulalamin like your nabi Dawood a.s says "thanks to you that you have made me your thankful slave".

Shaikh Sa'adi (RA) begins Gulistan by asserting that in going and out going breathings are two different blessings and hence a single full breathing means two blessings. And on each blessing a thank is obligatory. Clearly for each breathing we are obliged to thank Allah(SWT) twice.
[/URL].

,
often we forget to recite before wudhu "Bismillah, wal hamdulillahi 'ala deen-il Islam", which is sunnah.

Alhamdulillah for the beautiful bird song this bright, warm, glorious morning! Alhamdulillah for the hawk on the post. Alhamduillah for the meadowlark perched closeby, singing her tune. Alhamduillah for the great horned owl that took flight from one branch to another and perched close to me.

Alhamdulillah for water, flowing so clean, at a steady rhythm, in one direction so peacefully.

Alhamdulillah for the show put on by a brave Canada goose - protecting nests, persevering in its attempts to land on a steep cliff to stand watch over nests below... finally succeeding but making such a fuss that everyone now knows where the nests are but does anyone dare approach?

Alhamdulillah for everything!

I was reading a book called 'Allah ke Safeer' in which I came across an anecdote involving Sayyidut at-Taifa Junaid Baghdadi .

During his tour for Hajj at a young age with Sirri Saqti ,He was asked about 'shukr' so he replied;
"Allah ki nematoon ku paakar uss ki nafarmani naa karna yeh shukr hai".

Alhamdulillah for Urdu but also... Alhamdulillah for whoever is reading this and trying to translate it for those of us who don't understand it but really want to know what was said (başta kendim olmak üzere).

"Allah ki nematoon ku paakar uss ki nafarmani naa karna yeh shukr hai".
Translation: To hold on to the blessings of Allah and to not disobey Him, that is shukr (gratitude/thankfulness)

Alhamdulillah for translations.

(başta kendim olmak üzere roughly translated from Turkish to English in this context: I speak for myself before others)
