In the context of remembering the enormous advantage that Ml Yunus Patel RA has been the supply of for a lot of people, I thought I'd reveal this brief passage from the Madkhal of Ibn Al Haajj on the etiquettes of the people of 'ilm; the wish is that it'll serve to show Ml Yunus's strong knowledge and enable his students and others to follow on his actions in being available to all of the Muslims who find their assistance. Starting of estimate from Al Madkhal: Malik RA informed the khalifa [when he asked him to show his kiddies in his home, away from people]: I've discovered the ulama [of Madeena Munawarra, tabi'een] saying: verily, if this understanding of deen is held away from the people, the elite [khaasa, indicating the ulama] themselves is likely to be deprived of its advantage. Ibn Al Haaj explains; their being deprived from the data of deen could be through 3 avenues: They'll perhaps not be given the tawfeeq [divine assistance] to rehearse onto it. The reward of knowledge increases through its spreading; the more knowledge advances, the more its reward increases for the instructor of such knowledge and the one that methods upon additionally, it gets the reward of his training. If nevertheless, it is kept by the bearer of knowledge to himself, he's actually coming on the road of its scattering, and he consequently deprives himself of part of its reward. The elite is likely to be deprived of the knowledge of the masail they've learned, and of the meaning. Since by avoiding the spread of such knowledge, is just a type of satisfaction [takabbur] and stinginess towards spending what Allah Ta'alaa has ordered them to invest from; and that's the knowledge that Allah Ta'alaa has chosen them with thru his bounty. They'll consequently be deprived of the knowledge needed for the reason that understanding. Allah Ta'alaa says: 'سَأَصْرِفُ عَنْ آيَاتِيَ الَّذِينَ يَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ ' 'I'll rob of My signs people who unjustly present selfishness on our planet ' (A'raf, passage 146). It's a known proven fact that some pompous people memorize the Quran and knowledge of deen, however they are deprived of its benefit; the advantage under consideration may be the practice and knowledge upon such knowledge. That gain is in fact what's wanted such information, therefore the people in fact have been in a much better religious form than them. And help is just wanted through Allah (Allahul Musta'an). End of quotation from Al Madkhal. We question Allah ta'alaa for tawfeeq.
