~Be good to your parents~
and
~show kindness to them~

As Salaamu Alaykum
Wa Rahmatullaahi Wa Barkaatuh!

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam,

The Noble Qur'an often reminds us
to be good to our parents and show kindness to them.
Certainly this is quite a challenge
for us careless and forgetful humans.

We must try our level best to respect our parents.
We should speak softly with our parents,
and treat them kindly and gently.

Let us ponder on the following verses,
in which, our Lord has commanded us
to be good with our parents and show kindness to them.

Some more verses to above;

O children of Adam! Let not the devil tempt you as he caused your parents to exit from the garden, pulling off from them their clothing to show them their private parts, indeed he sees you, he and his tribe from where you do not see them. Indeed We have made the devils to be the guardians of those who do not believe.
[Al Quran ; 7:27]

O our Lord! Forgive me and my parents and the believers on the day when the reckoning shall be established.
[Al Quran ; 14:41]

O you who believed! Stand for justice (and be) bearers of witness for Allah, even if it may be against yourselves or the parents or the near relatives; being rich or poor, and Allah is nearer to them (the rich and the poor); therefore do not follow the desire not to be fair; and if you distort or turn away, then surely Allah of what you do is Acquainted.
[Al Quran ; 4:135]

Say: Come I will recite what your Lord has forbidden to you, that you do not associate with Him anything, and (treat) the parents in kindness, and do not kill your children out of poverty, We provide for you and for them, and do not come near the indecencies, whatever is apparent and what is concealed, and do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden except with right; this (is what) He has enjoined you with so that you may understand.
[Al Quran ; 6:151]

And We have enjoined upon the human goodness to his parents, and if they strive with you that you should associate (others) with Me, of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them, to Me is your return, so I will inform you of what you used to do.
[Al Quran ; 29:8]
