I hope all brothers and sisters can dig deep into the knowledgeable mines of the 'ahaadiyth (hadiths) of the Messenger of ALLAAH (A*) (S+) and bring to the surface the treasures it contains inshaa allaah.

“The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: “The first person with whom Allah will shake hands will be Umar, (and he is) the first person to be greeted with the Salam, and the first person who will be taken by the hand and admitted into Paradise.” (Daif)

bro but I think there's too much formatting of the text
as_salaamu "alaykum Brother

Does the brother refer to for example how the following is written "umar ibn al_khaTTaab (R+) or the other text. I would appreciate if you let me know inshaa allaah.
That is the closest to the original Arabic one can get and it could be converted perfectly back into Arabic again.
e.g. Firstly Arabic does not have capital letters so we do not have to capitalize.
in Arabic there are only three vowels which can be either short or long

short = (a - i - u) long = (aa - iy - uw). When scholars transliterate they normally do not transliterate iy nor uw. In Arabic a y is employed to lengthen the i vowel and a w is employed to lengthen the u vowel.

So they would transliterate " 'aamiyn" as amin or aamin ameen amen aamiin whereas the correct would be 'aamiyn. Also distinctions must also be made between the letters 'alif 'amzah and "ayn

Allah would be allaah aameen would be 'aamiyn and abdullah would be "abdullaah. Three different pronunciations fully and correctly distinguished. Scholars would have no problem seeing the difference and the student or laymen would only gain right direrction and not be further misled.

The Messenger of ALLAAH (A*) (S+) was very strict with correct pronunciation as well as enunciation. The (*) after ALLAAH(*) is for (ta"aalaa) (most High and Higher) (multiplied).
The (S+) after the name of The Messenger of ALLAAH (A*) (S+) is for Sallallaahu "alayhi wa_sallam (blessings of ALLAAH upon him and the peace) (+) is for (and).
A small (s) is for the letter siyn and a big (S) is for the letter Saad. If they are not distinguished we can say the words of ALLAAH (*) incorrectly and end up subhaanallaah by sending curses. For example (radiyallaahu anhu = ALLAAH destroyed upon him) and (raDiyallaahu anhu = ALLAAH was pleased with him). If we do not distinguish the two letters daal (d) and Daad (D) we will end saying the wrong thing. May all learn and do the right thing inshaa allaah.

All advice and suggestions welcome from the brother.

The Messenger of ALLAAH (A*) (S+) said that "umar ibn al_khaTTaab (R+) was the one who adheres most sternly to the religion of Allah (A*).

Hadith no: 154 ibn maajah
Narrated / Authority of: Anas bin Malikthat the Messenger of Allah (saw) said:
“The most merciful of my Ummah towards my Ummah is Abu Bakr; the one who adheres most sternly to the religion of Allah is Umar; the most sincere of them in shyness and modesty is Uthman; the best judge is Ali bin Abu Talib; the best in reciting the Book of Allah is Ubayy bin Kab; the most knowledgeable of what is lawful and what is unlawful is Muadh bin Jabal; and the most knowledgeable of the rules of inheritance (Faraid) is Zaid bin Thabit. And every nation has a trustworthy guardian, and the trustworthy guardian of this Ummah is Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah.” (Sahih)

The Messenger of ALLAAH (A*) (S+) swore and said that whenever shayTaan finds "umar ibn al_khaTTaab (R+) taking a path he takes another path.

Sahih al-Bukhari Book 66 hadiyth 3480
3480. It is related that Sa'id ibn Abi Waqqas said,
"'Umar asked the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, for permission to enter while there were some women of Quraysh with him who speaking to him and asking him for more, raising their voices above his voice.
When 'Umar ibn al-Khattab asked for permission to enter, they rushed to screen themselves. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, gave him permission and 'Umar entered while the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was laughing.
'Umar said, 'May Allah make you laugh, Messenger of Allah.'
He said, 'I am amazed at those women who were with me. When they heard your voice, they rushed to screen themselves.'
'Umar said, 'But you, Messenger of Allah, are more entitled to be feared.' Then he said, 'O enemies of your selves! Do you fear me and not fear the Messenger of Allah?'
They said, 'Yes, you are harsher and more severe than the Messenger of Allah.'
The Messenger of Allah said, 'O Ibn al-Khattab! By the One in whose hand my soul is, whenever Shaytan finds you taking a path, he only takes a path other than your path.'"

The Messenger of ALLAAH (A*) (S+) had a dream in which he saw "umar ibn al_khaTTaab (R+) as the most excellent worker among the leaders of the people.

Sahih al-Bukhari 3464
3464. It is related that Abu Hurayra said, "I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, "While I was asleep, I dreamt that I was at a well in which there was a bucket. I drew water with it for as long as Allah willed and then Ibn Abi Quhafa (Abu bakr) took it and drew one or two buckets, but there was some weakness in his drawing. May Allah forgive him for his weakness. Then it turned into a large bucket and Ibn al-Khattab (Umar) took it and I have not seen a leader among the people work so well as he did until the people watered their camels."
Sahih al-Bukhari 3473
3473. It is related that Ibn 'Umar said that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "While I was at a well drawing water, Abu Bakr and 'Umar came. Abu Bakr took the bucket and drew one or two buckets, but there was some weakness in his drawing. May Allah forgive him. Then 'Umar took it from Abu Bakr's hand and it turned into a large bucket in his hand. I have not seen a leader among the people work so well as he did until the people watered their camels."

The Messenger of ALLAAH (A*) (S+) said that if there was a man from his community who was not a prophet but receives inspiration and is spoken to then it is "umar ibn al_khaTTaab (R+).

Sahih al-Bukhari 34863486. It is related from Abu Hurayra that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Among those nations before you were those who are inspired to action. If there are any of them among my community, then it is 'Umar ibn al-Khattab."
It is added that Abu Hurayra said that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Among the tribe of Israel before you were men who were spoken to without being Prophets. If there are any of them among my community, then it is 'Umar."

The Messenger of ALLAAH (A*) (S+) had a dream and "umar ibn al_khaTTaab (R+) was shown to him wearing a shirt longer than everyone else and interpreted it as The Diyn or Religion of ALLAAH.

Sahih al-Bukhari 23
23. Abu Sa'id al-Khudri was heard to say that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "While I was asleep, I dreamed I saw some people who were shown to me and who were wearing shirts some of which reached to their breasts and some of which were shorter than that. 'Umar ibn al-Khattab was shown to me wearing a shirt that was trailing on the ground." They asked, "How do you interpret that, Messenger of Allah?" He said, "The deen."

"umar ibn al_khaTTaab (R+) becomes deeply affected at the death of The Messenger of ALLAAH (A*) (S+) and in a moment denies it. abuw bakr (R+) calms him and brings sense to the very sad situation.
Sahih al-Bukhari 3467
3467. It is related from 'A'isha, the wife of the Prophet, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, died while Abu Bakr was at as-Sunh. (Isma'il says that it means at al-'Aliyya). 'Umar stood up saying, 'By Allah, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, has not died!'" She said, ''Umar said [later], 'By Allah, nothing occurred to me but that." [He said], 'Allah will raise him and he will cut off the hands and feets of some men!' Abu Bakr came and uncovered the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and kissed him. He said, 'By my mother and my father, you were good both alive and dead. By the One who has no soul in His hand, Allah will not ever make you taste two deaths. ' Then he went out and said, 'O oath-taker, take it easy. When Abu Bakr spoke, 'Umar sat down. He praised Allah and glorified Him and said, 'Whoever worshipped Muhammad, Muhammad is dead. Whoever worshipped Allah, Allah is alive and does not die.' He said, 'You will die and they too will die.' (39:30) He said, 'Muhammad is only a Messenger and he has been preceded by other Messengers. If he was to die or be killed, would you turn on your heels? Those who turn on their heels do not harm Allah in any way. Allah will recompense the thankful.' (3:144) The people sobbed."

"umar ibn al_khaTTaab (R+) takes the hand of abuw bakr (R+) and gives him allegiance to become the first 'amiyr and khaliyfah of Islaam.

Sahih al-Bukhari 3467
He said, "The Ansar gathered around Sa'd ibn 'Ubada in the Saqifa of the Banu Sa'ida. They said, 'There should be an amir from us and an amir from you.' Abu Bakr, 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, and Abu 'Ubayda ibn al-Jarrah went to them. 'Umar started to speak and Abu Bakr made him be quiet. 'Umar used to say, 'By Allah, I only meant by that some words which I had prepared which I liked. I was afraid that Abu Bakr would not be eloquent. Then Abu Bakr spoke and he spoke in the most eloquent fashion. He said in his words, "We are the amirs and you are the wazirs."' Hubab ibn al-Mundhir said, 'No, by Allah, we will not do it! An amir from us and an amir from you.' Abu Bakr said, 'No, but we are the amirs and you are the wazirs, for they (i.e. Quraysh) are the noblest house of the Arabs and the best in lineage. So give allegiance to 'Umar or Abu 'Ubadya ibn al-Jarrah.' So 'Umar said, 'Rather we will give allegiance to you! You are our master and the best of us and the one of us most beloved to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and 'Umar took his hand and gave him allegiance, and the people gave him allegiance. Someone said, 'You have killed Sa'd.' 'Umar replied, 'Allah has killed him.'"

"umar ibn al_khaTTaab (R+) after the death of The Messenger of ALLAAH (A*) (S+) frightened the people, some of whom were hypocrites and then ALLAAH (A*) caused them to apostatize because of that.

Sahih al-Bukhari 3467

It is related that 'A'isha said, "The eyes of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, became fixed and then he said three times, 'Among the highest Companion,'" He [al-Qasim] related the hadith. She said, "There was nothing in what both of them said by which Allah did not benefit people. *'Umar frightened the people, some of whom were hypocrites and then Allah caused them to apostatize because of that. Then Abu Bakr showed the people guidance and acquainted them with the truth which they were following. They went out reciting, 'Muhammad is only a Messenger and he has been preceded by other Messengers. If he was to die or be killed, would you turn on your heels? Those who turn on their heels do not harm Allah in any way. Allah will recompense the thankful.'"

"umar ibn al_khaTTaab (R+), his jealousy, his wife's attending morning and evening group prayers in the mosque, and the Prophet's (S+) words.
Sahih al-Bukhari 858
It is related that Ibn 'Umar said,
"A wife of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab used to attend the group prayers of Subh and 'Isha' in the mosque. She was asked, 'Why do you come out when you know that 'Umar dislikes it and is jealous?' She said, 'What stops him from forbidding me then?' The man said, 'The words of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, "Do not forbid the female slaves of Allah from attending the mosques of Allah."

Fitna Of Man

Virtues and Merits of the Prophet (pbuh) and his Companions Bukhari :: Book 4 :: Volume 56 :: Hadith 786 Narrated Hudhaifa:

Once 'Umar bin Al-Khattab said, said, "Who amongst you remembers the statement of Allah's Apostle regarding the afflictions?" Hudhaifa replied, "I remember what he said exactly." 'Umar said. "Tell (us), you are really a daring man!'' Hudhaifa said, "Allah's Apostle said, 'A man's afflictions (i.e. wrong deeds) concerning his relation to his family, his property and his neighbors are expiated by his prayers, giving in charity and enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil.' " 'Umar said, "I don't mean these afflictions but the afflictions that will be heaving up and down like waves of the sea." Hudhaifa replied, "O chief of the believers! You need not fear those (afflictions) as there is a closed door between you and them." 'Umar asked, "Will that door be opened or broken?" Hudhaifa replied, "No, it will be broken." 'Umar said, "Then it is very likely that the door will not be closed again." Later on the people asked Hudhaifa, "Did 'Umar know what that door meant?" He said. "Yes, 'Umar knew it as everyone knows that there will be night before the tomorrow morning. I narrated to 'Umar an authentic narration, not lies." We dared not ask Hudhaifa; therefore we requested Masruq who asked him, "What does the door stand for?" He said, "Umar."
*Note:Umar r.a was martyred, after that Uthman r.a became Khalifa, later he was martyred, and Ummah faced many difficulties, war between Sahaba etc.

Fasting Bukhari :: Book 3 :: Volume 31 :: Hadith 119 Narrated Abu Wail from Hudhaifa:
Umar asked the people, "Who remembers the narration of the Prophet about the affliction?" Hudhaifa said, "I heard the Prophet saying, 'The affliction of a person in his property, family and neighbors is expiated by his prayers, fasting, and giving in charity." 'Umar said, "I do not ask about that, but I ask about those afflictions which will spread like the waves of the sea." Hudhaifa replied, "There is a closed gate in front of those afflictions." 'Umar asked, "Will that gate be opened or broken?" He replied, "It will be broken." 'Umar said, "Then the gate will not be closed again till the Day of Resurrection." We said to Masruq, "Would you ask Hudhaifa whether 'Umar knew what that gate symbolized?" He asked him and he replied "He ('Umar) knew it as one knows that there will be night before tomorrow, morning.

Praise of Sayyidna Umar (RA) in words of Hadrat Ali (Karam Allahu Wajahu)

Ibn Abu Mulaika reported: I heard Ibn 'Abbas as saying: Wlien 'Umar b. Khatab was placed in the coffin the people gathered around him. They praised him and supplicated for him before the bier was lifted up, and I was one amongst them. Nothing attracted my attention but a person who gripped my shoulder from behind. I saw towards him and found that he was 'Ali. He invoked Allah's mercy upon 'Umar and said: You have left none behind you (whose) deeds (are so enviable) that I love to meet Allah with them. By Allah, I hoped that Allah would keep you and your two associates together. I had often heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: I came and there came too Abu Bakr and 'Umar; I entered and there entered too Abu Bakr and 'Umar; I went out and there went out too Abu Bakr and 'Umar, and I hope and think that Allah will keep you along with them.
