AA Brothers and Sisters,
I am struggling with my deen, the waswas has intensified to the point I feel now all the bad thoughts I am having about Allah SWT are voluntarily. I feel so hopeless and defeated for I know deep down in my heart that Allah has made Islam easy yet I have turned something with ease to become so difficult on myself. I love Allah with all my soul and the fact that I somewhat feel I've betrayed Allah makes me upset at myself. I sometimes wish life could rewind back to last year when I use to put all my trust in Allah on any small or big matter. I try to keep my mind busy on proactive and useful matters but it just keeps coming again and again. Alhamduilah my anxiety and fears have gone away but sometimes I think maybe Allah has removed the anxieties away from me in this life only to punish me in the next life. I really need encouragement and support and I can't really speak this to my family because I fear that they might think I am a weak Muslimah. I pray for Allah to keep the believing men and believing woman to remain steadfast in their deen and die as true Muslims Inshallah |

AA Brothers and Sisters, ![]() Allah is to a believer how the believer thinks of him so we must Always have a good opinion of Allah Allah is so merciful that no matter what condition we are in we can still attain his mercy and pleasure If He chooses to place us in hardship we make lots of sabr and that is pleasing to Allah If He chooses to give us ease we make lots of shukr and we attain reward for that ignore the bad thoughts... every time they come remove them by doing excessive dhikr and lots of durood this way the shaytan will leave you alone as he will know that all his whispers do is cause you to do more dhikr and receive more reward All of us from time to time suffer from these whisperings its not something we should feel down about, it is a sign of Imaan in itself. ![]() wallahu alam |

Assalāmu `alaikum Warahmatullāhi Wabrakatuh,
A thief will steal from a place where there are valuables. If a place is empty and does not have valuables, a thief will not concentrate in that place as that place is of great interest to him. The focus of shaitaan is to attack man and weaken ones iman. The thoughts and waswasa you have is a clear sign of your imaan. If you did not have imaan; shaitaan would not focus on you. The only way to overcome the waswasa is to ignore them.Shaitaan wants to divert your attention and create doubts in you. Dont give in to the plot of shaitaan. When you experience such thoughts, recite lahawla wala quwwata illa billah, and ignore the thoughts. Don’t let anything bother you. When shaitaan will see you are not bothered, and his plan is not working, he will move his focus away from you. It is heartening to know you commenced praying. Be steadfast on that and don’t let anything deter you from fulfilling your obligations in shariah. And Allah Ta'āla Knows Best, Muftī Ebrahim Desai - If your waswasa are whispers of Shaitaan, then if they are involuntary and just come in the mind of their own, you should not worry. Simply ignore such thoughts. Do not pay attention whatsoever to such thoughts. Shaitaan puts these thoughts to divert your attention from useful thoughts to useless and insignificant thoughts. You will find yourself consumed in something useless and tangled thereby frustrating yourself. That is the root to many evils, anger, frustration, tiredness, despair, suicidal thoughts etc. This is what is Shaitaan’s objective. The simple remedy to such thoughts is to ignore them and don’t bother. This will be a smack on Shaitaan’s face. Shaitaan will feel humiliated and not attempt his evil plot on you again. Simply read “لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ” and “أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ”. Also, remember having such thoughts are a clear sign of Ieman. If you did not have Ieman in you, Shaitaan would not bother. Once sahabi complained to Rasulullah Salla Allahu Alayhi wa Sallam about such thoughts. Rasulullah Salla Allahu Alayhi wa Sallam advised him “That is clear sign of Ieman”. Such thoughts are like the different scenes on a journey. One does not stop to watch every scene on the journey, he glances at it and continues. Similarly, continue with your normal life and don’t let these thoughts stop you in any way. If you do so, you are inviting trouble to yourself. Such thoughts are similar to a live wire. You stay away, you are safe; you touch it you shock yourself. And Allah Ta'āla Knows Best, Muftī Ebrahim Desai |

AA Brothers and Sisters, ![]() I agree with other brothers and sisters response. They have covered nearly everything that you need. I am struggling with my deen, the waswas has intensified to the point I feel now all the bad thoughts I am having about Allah SWT are voluntarily. You come out strengthened after meeting your enemy, not before that. You are facing either Satan the cursed or the Baser Self or, and this is more probable, both. Ignore the first one and overcome the latter. I feel so hopeless and defeated for I know deep down in my heart that Allah has made Islam easy yet I have turned something with ease to become so difficult on myself. In all probability you are about to overcome some significant milestone in your spiritual development. Just before such an eventuality one passes through a phase on uncertainty. In this state one usually gets palpitations. Thus I'll rather congratulate you. I love Allah with all my soul ... What can a sinner like this say sister about such a wonderful thing. Allah(SWT) has told us that people of faith love Him intensely. Thus your intense love for Allah(SWT) is a sign of eemaan. And there is nothing more valuable then eemaan. May Allah(SWT) fill our hearts also with the same intense love for Him. and the fact that I somewhat feel I've betrayed Allah makes me upset at myself. This is again faith and belief at work. Faith and belief is the state of being hanging between hope and fear. You are residing at the right place. I sometimes wish life could rewind back to last year when I use to put all my trust in Allah on any small or big matter. We can not go back in time. Repent sincerely for the past mistakes and proceed further with life-wasting no time on regrets while you can still repent. Pray for taufeeq of repentance for us sinners too. I try to keep my mind busy on proactive and useful matters but it just keeps coming again and again. Just keep trying. That is Islam. You are responsible for your actions and you are doing them-that is it. Alhamduilah my anxiety and fears have gone away but sometimes I think maybe Allah has removed the anxieties away from me in this life only to punish me in the next life. You are worried about your hereafter and that is the correct thing to do sister. I really need encouragement and support and I can't really speak this to my family because I fear that they might think I am a weak Muslimah. We sinners confide our anxieties to our Masha-ikh. I'll suggest the same to you. It is very touching that you want to protect your family too from weaknesses that we have. I pray for Allah to keep the believing men and believing woman to remain steadfast in their deen and die as true Muslims Inshallah Ameen. |
