Default Are you lucky if you live longer than the Prophet (saw)?
If you live more than 62 should you consider yourself lucky you lived longer than the Prophet (saw)?

Why would anyone think that? One should consider himself lucky if he managed to get through life with maximum ibaadaat and good a'maal and minimum sinning. Even a second of the life of Rasoolullah is better than our entire lifetimes.

Even a second of the life of Rasoolullah is better than our entire lifetimes combined.

Bro I made a minor adjustment to your statement above (in bold). Hope you don't mind.

Let me re-phrase. My father used to say that after he was 62 he was living "on bonus time". One should be ready to die at any time and think if he/she is ready to face Allah (swt) if they were to die right now.

Yes, one should feel grateful for the bounty Allah has given to one's self. Hence the feeling of being lucky. If one is living past the average life span, then Alhumdulillah, more time for Ibaadah, more time for dikr etc.. Therefore one would be lucky. However if one is living past the average age span and one spends in the state of unawareness of Allah, then one is not lucky.

> you should rephrase you question.

Please will all posters read the whole thread (in all threads on SF) before posting. This will save repetition.

I just have re-phrased the question before your post.
