Assalamu alaikum brothers and sisters,
I have fallen under a great problem....My beard grows on one side of my face(on cheek) and on the other side it grows very little ...it looks very weird that on one side of my face is full of beard and other side cantains almost nothing..it obviously looks ugly whereas beard makes a man smart and beautiful..i do have enough long beard on my chin.i really wanna keep beard....My mum said to shave both side (only cheek) for one to two times as it will allow to grow beard more deep and uniformly on both side...i also want to do that but thinking whether the islamic ruling permit me that ...for proper beatification can i shave my cheek one or two times keeping my chin beard which is quite ok...does shareah permit me to do so?please answer with proper reference..jazakallahu khairan..) |

![]() Brother why don't you take one of those electric beard trimmers with the beard attachments (or go to a barber) and trim the cheek with the more hair to even out with the one with less hair, and leave the chin alone. Though I didn't look for it right now, I have read a fatwa somewhere before where they said it is allowed to 'fix' the beard if it is uneven from both sides, but only to the extent of making it even and no more than that. Islam is not difficult and it does not require us to walk around with half of our face full of beard and the other half with barely any beard (if the pic you had posted before was an accurate representation). Also put blackseed oil in your beard as it helps with hair growth Insha'Allah. It has a strong smell so I wouldn't put it on during the day when you're out and about your routine... rather what I used to do was (and still do sometimes) is nicely oil my beard with it (sometimes even a mix of olive & black seed oil as olive oil is Sunnah) before going to bed and then put a towel or something on my pillow and go to sleep & and wash it out when I wake up for Fajr (or if I'm taking a shower). Insha'Allah overtime you would see a difference if you use black seed & olive oil regularly at least 3-4 times a week (daily if possible). Also I am not sure how old you are but if you are younger (like teenager) then especially don't worry about it as your beard will 'settle' as you grow older. If you are already fully grown (30+) then you can just keep doing the trimming to the extent of evening it out from both sides. Insha'Allah a person of knowledge will correct me if I'm saying something wrong here. So again I would trim the heavier side to match with the lighter side and Insha'Allah overtime it will even out. ![]() ![]() |

![]() I would recommend leaving it as it is. Many beards look a bit funny when they start to grow, but eventually grow out fully and beautiful. ![]() The brother's advice regarding oiling it is good. Use only Olive oil if you find that black seed oil causes hair-loss. ![]() |
