![]() Respected brothers , I have recently been collecting material to counter the allegation of Irjaa against Imam Abu Hanifa ra. After approaching the context of the issue , i believe that the noble Imam is free of allegation. The narrations in which Imam Abu Hanifa ra has been called a Murji mainly come from Tareekh e Kabir of Imam Bukhari ra and Tarikh al baghdad of Khatib Baghdadi ra.I have done some research on the issue and after going through some passages of Al Milal wal nahal of sheherstani , it becomes clear that Imam Abu Hanifa ra belonged to the Murjia ahli sunnah and not the bad Murjiaah which later evolved. I would very much appreciate if the knowledgeable members share some content which stepwise refutes all the narrations in which Imam Abu Hanifa ra has been called a Murji'. ![]() |

jazakallah. I already have this document and though it does put the whole issue in the right context and explains it well but it does not deal with the narrations in which the allegation has been coined.

Can you post the narrations? Waki Bin Jarah says in Dhaufa Uqaili about Imam Abu Hanifa ra "Kana Murjiaan" Abdullah Ibn Mubarik has been recorded in Tarikh al baghdad to have said that when he was asked if there was any innovation associated with Imam Abu Hanifa ra , he said "Yes , it was irjaa" Yahya Ibn Mu'een has been reported to have said in Kitab us sunnah about Imam abu Hanifa "Kana Murjiaan" |

![]() With all due respect these claims agianst the Imam were refuted centuries ago. It is only loonies that have been brainwashed in Madinah University that are regurgitating these claims. But AlhamduliLlah, it is but one of the many signs of their madness, that allows one to recognise their misguidance. ![]() |

What is irjaa, you ought to define it. As far as I can tell in involves highly esoteric discussion about whether eman increases or decreases. Imam Abu Hanifa (ra) said it did not increase or decrease (like the murjia sect) except he also said (unlike the murjia) eman become stronger and weaker due to the veils upon the heart which grow through sin and decrease through good amal or actions.
