I know this doesn't specifically have to do with Islam, but I guess we could say one guy that is an "option" for marriage is a Saudi. I can't find any information by the Saudi government on if we can marry or not. The US page says that we can, but need KSA government permission... but it contains absolutely no details on how to pursue this.
I'm not looking for marriage advice, just whether or not an American can marry a Saudi, and possibly the steps to do so. |

Yes, I believe you can marry a Saudi man. http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_931.html
It looks like he has to apply for permission to marry you. Here is an interesting blog that might help you sort out the process. |

Generally Muslims can marry any Muslim however I have heard old school scholars say it is better for the marriage if one marries a person from their own status group, ethnicity etc. as going out of these puts more of a starin on a marriage. |

again quick to look at saudi rather than your own community ![]() I was 'quick to look at Saudi' because this thread was about marrying a Saudi citizen and then you came along with your quip about asians being THE SAME and I merely explained that it is not the same since the difference is LEGAL. Regarding 'my excuse', why should I have an excuse for something I have no part in? Why get all aggressive for no reason? Literally, you think everyone on here is gunning for Saudi and leaves the subcontinent alone whereas I have more posts on here aimed at subcontinent problems than at Saudi problems ![]() |

Abu Fatimah...again you are making an issue where an issue doesnt exist...nobody is agreeing with indians and pakistanis not allowing their kids to marry out of their race...they are discussing the law in Saudi and still you become defensive??
Again your turning the thread into a race/sectarian issue there are people on here who go to extremes when criticizing saudis...but you have gone to another extreme where as a counter attack you feel it necessary to attack Asians...even though they openly admit that there are problems with their own government and culture :s |

I've heard this also and sorry but I do not agree with this stance. I have seen ethnic asians marry western 'converts', no problem, alhamdulIllah. |

There is a reason people here wish to focus on the problems with saudi, arabs and salafis |

its hypoicritical for asians of deobandi manhaj to sit around criticising saudi all day without giving a mention to their own communities. nobody here denys the problems with indo/pak government or culture...we all know they have massive issues if the people here were denying their own issues and just picking on Saudi i would understand your point...and then i would agree that is is a race issue and a sectarian issue im not saying its correct for everyone to bash Saudi all the time...i think the government has done some good things too...my only issue is that your turning it into a race/sectarian issue and your defence is to turn around and bash Asians whereas we are not denying our issues People are not just bashing saudi because they are salafi because a lot of what they do is also opposed by the salafi scholars...do you honestly think people like Shaykh Haytham would agree with much of the decisions of the government? |

There many threads where Asians have dissed even their own communities! So how does your point even stand to being with? I have spoken against my Bangladeshi community regarding many things, from the topic of government to culture!
It's really funny how you try to say this is a Deobandi thing, just look at the Salafis, they will criticise anything that is not even from their quarters, last time i had a "Salafi" saying what HMC are doing wrong. Tableeghi is a wrong blah blah, it's good to criticise, but what have YOU done for gaining ACCESS to REAL Halal meat in your Country and for your people? what have you done to call people at Grass Root level to Islam? everyone has pros and cons. but sitting like some arm chair shaykh is not really going to help, this goes to Salafis and Non Salafis. |

What does the term "Deobandi Manhaj" got to do with the thread? =S.
The thread was about Saudi, not about Salafi. So it could have simply been "Asian". Why bring up Deobandi in here? It seems you are becoming the same whom you used to criticize. This is what frustration does to a person. And Allah knows best. |
