On the eve of 'Id, 1st Shawwal 1433; 18th August 2012, we received the news of the demise of Hadhrat Mawlana Ahmad Muhammad Garda of Laudium, Pretoria (SA). The Janazah Salaah was performed on the day of 'Id after the 'Id Salaah at the Dar al-Salaam Center in Laudium. Hadhrat Mawlana passed on at the ripe old age of 95 years and served the community for over 50 years. He studied in Dabhel, possibly under the likes of 'Allamah Kashmiri and 'Allamah Shabbir Usmani .He was the maktab ustadh of many of the 'Ulama of Laudium and South Africa including the likes of Mufti AK Bhoola (student of Faqih al-Ummah and zimmedar of Tabligh), Mawlana Riaz Hassim, Mawlana 'Abd Allah Jeena, etc.

May Allah fill his qabr with nur and make it a garden from the gardens of al-Firdaus. Ameen.

Also, may Allah SWT grant him complete aafiyatt from here-on until Jannah, grant sabr e jameel to his near & dear, and may Allah SWT take even more work of Deen from his nasl with complete ease, selflessness and steadfastness. Summa aameen.

Ameen, Mashallah SA is full of old school ulama, but many are passing away, may Allah swt increase their lives and make people derive as much as benefit as possible

Mawlana Ahmad Garda was brought to South Africa in 1949 by the Pretoria North community. He was the only ustadh at the maktab and initially there where about 30 children which later increased to several hundred. He is Ustadh al-Asaatizah and many of his students went to become successful in various professions including deen, many of his maktab students who became 'Ulama later thought with him at the maktab. He served ONE community for over 4 decades. He was a fatherly figure to the Laudium community. He particularly had very good relations with Hadhrat Mawlana Ahmad Hathurani It is said he could easily do 100 push-ups right up to his 70's and 80's.
