Default Ulema Say Assad Must Die
Over the past months I have noticed that a lot of scholars are cursing, declaring Jihad and passing fatawa of execution against the murderous Syrian Tyrant Bashar the Giraffe al Assad.

I thought it may be interesting to find and post a few of them here.

Egyptian cleric issues death fatwa against Al Assad

Egypt's prominent Muslim cleric Safwat Hejazi said the killing of Al Assad is a duty for every Muslim

Cairo: Egypt's prominent Muslim cleric Safwat Hejazi has said that the killing of Syrian President Bashar Al Assad is a duty for every Muslim.

"He who has the chance to kill Al Assad and does not do this is a sinner," Hejazi told a rally held in Cairo in support of a popular revolt against Al Assad's rule.

"Hadn't I been a known face, I would have gone myself and killed him," added Hejazi, who had a high profile during an uprising that forced long-serving Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak to step down last year.

Hejazi added that his anti-Al-Assad fatwa (a religious edict) has been echoed by many Muslim clerics.

107 SCHOLAR DENOUNCE THE ASSAD REGIME AND THOSE WHO SUPPORT IT OR DEFEND IT

THESE SCHOLARS SUPPORT THE SYRIAN REVOLUTIONARIES AND CALL UPON THE MUSLIMS TO SUPPORT THEM

We call for the support and the strengthening of the Free Syrian Army.....

We also call on Muslims and on the free world to support and assist this army in any way possible, materially and morally, in order for it to carry out its mission and to organise its ranks.

It is a duty to support the revolutionaries in Syria in all their material and psychological requirements, so that they can successfully complete their revolution..

Saudi Islamic scholar's issued a fatwa to kill Assad

Sheikh Ayedh Al Qarni issued a fatwa to kill Syrian President Bashar Al Assad.

Al Qarni stressed in his fatwa that killing Bashar Al Assad is more important than killing Israelis, reported 'Al Bayan'.

Meanwhile, Saudi-based 'Sabq' reported that Al Qarni, in an interview on Al Arabia Channel, urged Syrian people to take up arms against Bashar Al Assad's regime.

In his fatwa, Al Qarni said that minorities and all other communities in Syria must enjoy freedom and security after Assad era.

"Bashar is illegitimate and he is a murderer because his hands are blood stained. He killed hundreds of children, destroyed mosques...he is a rogue...,
" he said.

He called on Syrian army to split and disobey President Bashar Al Assad. "It is not permissible for Syrian army to obey the tyrant...this is disobedience to the Creator," added Al Qarni.

Azhar scholars have called for Assad's death over the ongoing civilian bloodshed in Syria

CAIRO – Muslim scholars in Al-Azhar, the highest seat of learning in the Sunni Muslim world, have issued a fatwa calling for the killing of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad over the deaths of thousands of civilians in a deadly crackdown on anti-regime protests.

“Killer Bashar Al-Assad should be killed,” Nasr Farid Wasil, Egypt’s former mufti, told The Freedom and Justice Party’s newspaper on Wednesday.

“He who fires a bullet against his people is cursed and a war criminal who should be punished.”

.... Muslim scholars called for Assad’s killing over the daily civilian bloodshed in Syria.

“Killing Bashar Al-Assad is a must after he shed the blood of his people and raped their women,” Dr Hashem Islam, a member of Al-Azhar’s Fatwa Committee, said.

He stressed that Islam bans the killing of human beings.

“The crimes being committed by killer Bashar are banned by Islam and will not achieve security,” he said.

Sheikh Abdel-Moneim Al-Bari, former chief of Al-Azhar scholars front, agrees.

“Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad should be killed for aiding the brutal massacres being committed against peaceful civilians in Syria,” he said.

Al-Bari, a former member of Al-Azhar’s Fatwa Committee, said that Assad’s crimes violate all religious and human norms.
“He deserves a swift punishment.”

this is vague. not only some of these 'ulema' are definitely not ulema, and others as such that our scholars tell us to not follow them at all. anyhow, FSA are not a single entity. whose support are they advocating? the secular FSA who want a democratic ruler or the mujahid FSA plus AQ who want a proper shariah government?

what kind of government do they want afterwards?

he Syrian Shaykh, Muhammad Abu’l Huda al Ya’qoubi has issued a fatwa in which he calls the people to uptake arms and volunteer in the Syrian Free Army.

He also appealed to the peoples of Damascus and Aleppo to join the revolution

Shaykh Muhammad al Yaqoubi was a teacher at the Grand Umayyad Mosque. He was removed from his position as preacher and prohibited from teaching as a result of his supporting the revolution from its initiation. After prosecution he was forced to leave the country. Thereafter he issued his famous edict on the programme Shari’a & Life, regarding the overthrowing of the present government.

The following is the text of the edict:

O people of Syria! The government commits new massacres daily in Homs and other besieged cities.

The issue has reached such limits that remaining silent and not taking action has become impermissible.

Due to this, we issue this edict based on the rulings related to helping the weak, forbidding aid to killers and the rights of people to defend their lives, family and wealth.

This edict necessitates the uptake of arms in order to rid these criminals of their killings and save the lives of innocent men, women, children and the elderly in Homs, Zabadani, Ghouta, Deir Al Zour, Lattakia, the rural regions of Aleppo and all the cities of Syria. People have been killed, houses bombed by Braszmat missiles and executions conducted by firing squads.

Hence this edict has been given:

Firstly, it is obligatory upon all the officers and soldiers of the government army to defy their senior commanders. Secondly, it is necessary for the reserves to join the Free Army in order to defend the people and protect their dignities and honour. Additionally, it is not permissible for any one to join the government army. The people must, according to their abilities, provide amenities, support, shelter, and aid to the personnel of the Free Army.

Thirdly, business people and other who are able to do so must collect monetary funds, medicines and food to aid the effected regions. We must also host those who have been displaced in our homes for they are our brothers and honour. Fourthly, the scholars and preachers must call to the revolution and general call to arms during the Friday sermons. Moreover, they must establish the absent funeral prayer for the martyrs.

Fifthly, we call the people of Damascus and Aleppo to join the revolution and descend upon the squares and streets. We urge the rural population to move to the cities in order to start the revolution in them. Sixthly, we urge the staff, politicians and honourable diplomats to leave the criminal government.

Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayat of Syria:

Message to Syrian Army Officers

O Sincere Army Officers! Be the best of those who answered the call!...

Your brothers are being slaughtered – So rush to help them by establishing the Islamic State...

O Sincere Army Officers….Be the best of those who answered the call!...

The criminal Syrian regime has gone beyond the limit by shedding the blood of your people. So be the best help for them after Allah Ta’ala, for you are the hope. Protect their blood by the stance you take on the side of Allah, His Messenger and the steadfast believers in the blessed land of Sham, the centre of the land of Islam. Uproot this obscene regime from its decaying roots and replace it with the rule of Allah, the rightly guided Khilafah on the model of prophethood.

So be the best of those who answered the call, and thus become the new ansaar (helpers) – descendents of Sa’d ibn Ma’adh; so Islam and its people become powerful by you, and you gain, Inshallah, the reward of this worldly life and the best reward of the Hereafter.

Allah Ta’ala says:

Of those who answered the call of Allah and the Messenger – even after being wounded – those who do right and refrain from wrong, have a great reward.

Conference of Islamic Ummah supporting Syrian people ends in Istanbul

A "Conference of Islamic Ummah supporting the Syrian people" organized by the Union of World Muslim Scholars and Union of Syrian Scholars ended in Istanbul on Tuesday.

At the end of the conference held at the Cevahir Hotel, Secretary General of the Union of World Muslim Scholars Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali al-Karadagi read a declaration involving five fatwas in the Arabic language.

The first fatwa said that being on the side of the Syrian people (Free Syria) was obligatory from a religious perspective.

The second fatwa said that the leaders of the Islamic world had to extend financial and spiritual support to the Syrian people, including providing weapons and arms.

The third fatwa said that helping Syria and the Bashar al-Assad regime was unlawful from a religious perspective.

The fourth fatwa said that the scholars should not be silent on the rightful struggle of the Syrian people.

some of the reasons given for declaring a death sentence on assad can also be found in other governments and leaders.

so why is assad being singled out. why not pass the death sentence on others such as the americans and their allies. they also have the blood of innocent muslims on their hands.

but i hope this recent worldwide support for J!had among ulema and practicing Muslims would soften the heart of the general Muslims towards the other mujahideen fighting in similar, maybe even worse, circumstances. it is just that the americans want everyone to think they are terrorists so they don't get any media coverage, twitter coverage and no rallying call is made for Muslims to go and physically fight alongside them. those ulema who make that rallying call are killed or incarcerated by the "Muslim" rulers.
a good example is sheikh nasir in saudi jail. May Allah free him soon.

Getting rid of the head does not change anything. Just like when they got rid of Mubarak, nothing has really changed in Egypt, the underlying political structure that had Mubarak in power for so many decades is still there, changing the people will not change it either, neither will elections every 4 years. The whole structure needs to be dismantled so that a true Islamic government can be established. Cancel all debt obligations, close the central bank, introduce silver and gold currency...sack all the bureaucrats and civil servants.

In the case of Syria, Asaad has a powergroup behind him that needs to be destroyed, not just the man Asaad, guy with a unusually long neck.

If the Syrian civil war
- is really between the ordinary people of Syria and the Bashar's Government; and;
- the opposition is of true Islamic nature
then:

1) Why US, West and Israel and constantly supporting Syrian opposition parties, provided the history of arrogance of US is to always suppress the Islamic movements by all possible means?
US plans to arm Syrian insurgents with missiles: Report
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2012/08...with-missiles/

UK provides £5m for Syria insurgents

The Israeli spy chief says Tel Aviv supports regime change in Syria

(also just Google US and Israel support for Syrian rebels)

The hypocrite America just supports the hypocrite ones among the Muslim Ummah. In fact, the so called syrian opposition could never be in the favor of Islam and Muslim Ummah ... Ya Ulil Absaar ........... !

you quote from presstv, which is rubbish. have you visited Golan heights? if not how can you comment upon assad-israel relations?
