In what state these countries are vis a vis Islam?
We remember that Mahathir Muhammed did act as a Muslim statesman and that is saying a lot.
Even General Zia-ul-Haq is trashed as a Islamic dictator by the detractors of Islam but when one talks like Mahathir Muhammed the west is left with no option but to listen.
The inconvenient correction, for yours truly, was an event mentioned by Hazrat Mufti Taqi Usmani Sahab (DB) in one of his travelogues. He wanted to present a copy of Noble Qur'an to the head of the state in either of these two countries but could not. Why? because it will go against the secular law of the land!
It is so heart breaking that the colonial past has pushed us into adopt a life style in which appeasing the west gets preference over implementation of Islam in our lives.

So how are the things progressing in these countries?
