![]() I know that Lailatul jaiza is a very virtuous night in Islam. Its the night in which Allah rewards his slave for the all the a'mal he's done throughout Ramadan. And its recommended to pray tahajjud on this night. In my culture, however, its called 'chaand raat.' In my culture, this night means going out for a 'mela' and shopping, and often it means listening to music and dancing and women beautifying themselves and going out in full view of strange men. So im guessing all these things are cultural (unless someone can correct me by giving my authentic evidence.) And as far as I know, none of these 'mela' practices took place during the time of the Prophet (saw), and this night is supposed to be a night of worship, not partying. And these practices mostly seem to happen in southasia (India, Pakistan) Am I wrong to assert that these are all cultural things and have nothing to do with Islam? |
