Default Life in Grave and Judgement Day
AOA,

Once a Muslim is buried, he/she will know whether or not they will be going to heaven or hell based on their life in the grave. If they know they are going to heaven, why would they fear the day of judgement when they arise from their grave for questioning? Is this not contradictory?

(18:99) "All will be waiting for the Court of Allah, the Court of Justice to decide them. They Day of Assembly is a day of FEAR, AGONY and ANXIETY. It is a day when each of us will be worried about what will happen to us personally"

Why would a Muslim who knows he will be going to Heaven based on his/her grave life be worried as to what will happen to them???

The event will be so frightening that a person will forget that he/she is saved. It is like when someone has extreme pain they forget everything and can only think about the pain in that moment all past and future things are forgotten. Some people however will be in peace even at this moment. (may we be among them).

JA for your response. Is this your rational or is their hadith or a quran quote that validates your opinion? Recently, I've had a tragedy occur in my family that was unimaginable and I am desperately trying to strengthen my relationship with God. When I read such contradictions, it is concerning. If you don't mind clarifying the matter above with supporting links and/or quran/hadith quotes, that would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure I think I heard it somewhere or I might have read about it. Do not worry it is not really a contradiction, it is just your logical thinking trying to work it out as a problem, but once you get a better understanding the contradiction disappears.

Insha-Allah someone else will be able to provide you with textual support on the forum.

brother...you read my mind as that is EXACTLY what I'm trying to do which is trying to work it out logically. I so desperately want to follow Islam (more so then ever during this extremely difficult moment in my life) but I continue to use logic and my mind does not allow me to accept these so called 'contradictions'. I hope and pray that someone will be able to respond to my inquiry.

I'm more concerned with my life now and trying to be better and do whatever I can to advance deen and Muslims in whatever ways I can

I do not believe that praying 5 times aday alone will be enough so we have to do more than that

Can anyone else shed light on this topic?
