Asslamo Allaikum,
Personally, I have a problem with this one page OPEN/SHUT throwing people out of Islam or labelling them to be outside of Ahlus-Sunnah Wal-Jamaah obsession. This is a sensitive matter and should be left to the Ulama and all questions should be referred to them. In the entire history of Islam such a sensitive matter has NEVER BEEN left to the laymen to decide, rather laymen repeated and acted upon the Fatawa of the Ulama. I am not very knowledgeable but I would rather error on the side of caution and REFRAIN from throwing someone out of Islam (and make excuses for them) rather then decide on my own using a ONE-PAGE-GUIDE. Allah (SWT) knows best. |

![]() I don't want to use this guide to label people, I want to use it to protect my iman and be able to recognize human shayateen who invite people to the abodes of hell. Isn't it a justified aim if I want to know the factors which make one leave Islam? Uncle Muadh, could you provide an alternative to what I found on that pseudo-salafi website? Maybe a work done by an absolutely doubtless scholar? It's a 'funny coincidence' that takfeeris and the reasons for their existence where criticized in a thread you started, yet when I want to find out ahlu-sunnah stances on the factors which nullify ones Islam I have the impression to get criticized for it. Barak Allah fikum respected Brother ![]() |

Perhaps you havn't noticed that I have been criticising Pakistani Taliban all along who have Deobandees like Maulana Fazlullah in their ranks. I also criticised Maulana Sufi Muhammad and his blatant Takfeer for people who vote and his refusal to pray behind people who vote. I feel depply uncomfortable with such moves and not an expert in this area. |

I read the whole discussion and i remember reading some ahadith on the issue of amulet i would like to post rest depend upon u to belive it or not ,
It was narrated from Zaynab the wife of ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood from ‘Abd-Allaah that he said: “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say, ‘Spells (ruqyah), amulets and love-charms are shirk.” I said, “Why do you say this? By Allaah, my eye was weeping with a discharge and I kept going to So and so, the Jew, who did a spell for me. When he did the spell, it calmed down.” ‘Abd-Allaah said: “That was just the work of the Shaytaan who was picking it with his hand, and when (the Jew) uttered the spell, he stopped. All you needed to do was to say as the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say: ‘Adhhib il-ba’s Rabb al-naas ishfi anta al-Shaafi laa shifaa’a illa shifaa’uka shifaa’an laa yughaadiru saqaman (Remove the harm, O Lord of mankind, and heal, You are the Healer. There is no healing but Your healing, a healing which leaves no disease behind.’” (Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 3530) It was narrated from ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Aamir al-Juhani that a group came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) [to swear their allegiance (bay’ah) to him]. He accepted the bay’ah of nine of them but not of one of them. They said, “O Messenger of Allaah, you accepted the bay’ah of nine but not of this one.” He said, “He is wearing an amulet.” The man put his hand (in his shirt) and took it off, then he (the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)) accepted his bay’ah. He said, ‘Whoever wears an amulet has committed shirk.” (Narrated by Ahmad, 16969) |
