Default Patents held by ISSCR Presidents - Conflict of Interest?
Some interesting facts about the ISSCR.

Several past, present and future presidents of ISSCR hold patents or have applied for them. Patents are for one reason and that is financial gain. I think we have mentioned before on this forum about Irv Weissman and his patents. When we hear a lot of those in academia rattling off a thousand excuses why our own stem cells need to be regulated, it would seem that there is a definite conflict of interest here, especially when those doing the complaining do not disclose their own personal financial interest in not wanting doctors to be able to use our own stem cells. There is no money in it for them if doctors are allowed to practice medicine and they use our own stem cells which cannot be patented. To me, this is the biggest reason why ISSCR has fought against non regulation of our own stem cells. It isn't about our safety, it's about their personal financial future. GO TEXAS!!!!
