I've been on the diet now for 28 days. I had lost a total of 10 pounds, but in the last few days I've gone up a bit. I feel like I'm getting no where. It's been almost a month and I haven't even lost 10 pounds!
. I started at 152.2 pounds and am currently 142.8 pounds. My period isn't due for another 2 weeks or so (so I know it isn't bloating). I DID have a little relapse and ate four crazy breadsticks from Little Caesars two days ago, (resulting in about 60 carbs). I've been on the induction the entire time I've been on my diet. . Last time I went on this diet was about two years ago and I lost 17 pounds the first month. I seem to have come to a complete standstill the last week or so and haven't lost a single pound (and actually seem to have gained a pound). . I have added in these low carb tortilla shells to my diet (because I'm a couple weeks past the induction I figured it was okay) They have 9 carbs but only 5 net carbs. I drink about 3 cans of Diet Pepsi a day which I know they don't like so much, but I was losing weight before! ANY help would be greatly appreciated (Also, when I try the ketostix they come out a relatively dark purple. So I'm not sure what may be wrong! Sorry this is so long! Please help! |

Hi! I started about the same time as you, about a month ago. I started at 286, and lost down to 270, and there I sit. In fact, I bounced up a little bit just before TOM came. (time of month.) I sat there for over a week, and it was about to make me scream! To try to get it moving, I became more careful, counting every last bite going into the mouth, cutting out all items I had the slightest doubt about. I took up walking, too. And its moving again!
I have read that fat cells continue to shed fat, but fill up with water, until the body is convinced that the space is not going to be needed for fat storage, and then the water is allowed to leave the cell. This way, the fat cells can keep their structure more stable, and not shrink and expand so often. This explanation makes sense to me, as most people will tell you that plateaus come even when you do everything right! And it will hold steady at that weight, until you can get discouraged with keeping up the effort... But then, suddenly WHOOSH- the bladder goes into high gear, and the scales record a sudden drop in weight. It is possible to suddenly lose 5 lbs overnight. |
