Terrific news.. Bliss.

I think I'll be buying one next spring... Not looking forward though to that sore butt syndrome... unless of course I got it from something else, other then the bike.

Scratch.. lol

hey
that sounds great! my bf and i went out this weekend and bought bikes and roller blades - one of those impulse buys. we were walking in the mall to get something and walked in through sport check, and thats as far as we got. I dont even know how to roller blade, but I guess I will be learning soon.

We went out for an hour or so on Sunday and I forgot how hard going up the hills can be. It was very hot here and I was exhausted! (although, then I had 2 ball games an hour later so there was not time to focus on that). My only complaint was, my a** was so sore from that seat that I could barely sit for the rest of the day! Like bruised sore, not muscle sore.

Anyways, we are planning to take the bikes and roller blades (along with the golf clubs!) away somewhere next week and have a nice relaxing week of hanging out and exercising and I am looking forward to it! I think I may have to invest in a seat pad or something though...

Default What a nice suprise! My bike works...my body works!!
Well, I dusted off the bike and pumped up the tires and took it out for a spin this evening. Kind of expecting the worst since its been at least 2 1/2 years since I've had it out. I remember how much egg sucking sensation I got the first time out when I bought this bike years ago...Besides the extreemly forced breathing, there was the need to walk up several hills even with the ultra low granny gear I've got...

Well, tonight, I only had to get off and walk up a hill once...and that was because I missed a shift, not from my fitness level! Guess the walking and wieght loss have made a huge difference. (Bike riding was my exercise of choice the previous 2 weight loss attempts...I've gotten 15 lbs lighter this time around without it...starting from 30 lbs higher....) No desperate heavy breating with heart pounding in ears....Next to no burning in the leg muscles...And my knee didn't even begin to get stiff. (Though that last one has always seemed more tied to distance then effort...)

I think I could have done the rides I had been doing....in a similar time to where I ended the bike season last time (and this was the 1st time out..) but decided to do a shorter route of about half the distance...I don't want to be so sore for so long that I can't ride again for a week.

It is strange...I grow bored with walking after only 15-20 minutes of it...I don't feel I am light enough to run yet...and I reserve lap swimming for the winter...but I can go for an hour (or even two) without getting mentally tired of ridding.

Hope I'm not too sore tommorow...I've set a goal of riding at least 4x this week. I'd like to see it add up to at least 50 miles.

The best exercise is the one you enjoy enough to do I guess with the bike, you have a lot more scenery, so you don't get so bored. Good luck with it!
