Q, you will

Scott, that 7.5 is killer! That's why I alternate it. I think I'm probably holding myself off the matt on the handrails, lol! I saw what BrianInVa was doing and got inspired!

I'm hoping it will get may regular speed back up to par. Last year, I could run 3 miles at a 9:30 pace. Now, I'm between 11:30-12. I'm still contending with an injury, but I slowed even before that.

Default Patty's log week 5/23
All right, time to get back into the routine

Sunday
5 miles of intervals on treadmill. Alternated .25 miles at 4-mph (brisk walk) and .25 of running. The running intervals were alternating between 6.5 and 7.5 mph.

Monday
rest

Tuesday
3-mile run - first run outside in weeks!

Wednesday
Firm: BodySculpt (45-min) Boy, did I feel weak!

Thursday
Felt a little sore, so decided not to run. Got up early anyway and decided to color my hair. Then, I got ambitious and decided to get on the treadmill while I waited for the color. True multi-tasking

color to roots
.25-mile warmup@4mph
stretch, stretch, stretch
1-mile @ 6.5mph (9:14/mile)

break to add rest of color
.5-mile @ 6.5mph
.25-mile @ 4mph
.25-mile @ 7.5mph
(10:24/mile)

.25-mile cooldown @ 4mph
stretch, stretch, stretch

Friday
Firm: CardioSculpt (60-min)

I was a little sore last night and went to bed with heat on my leg. This morning's workout was good (details in first post), and I actually feel like I'm getting a little stronger.

Even tho I hate the treadmill, I think the intervals help me with my pace.

Hey, way to go, Patty! Keep it up.

I tried an interval like what you do last week and that 7.5 mph quarter mile was real tough.

Hi Patty. I laughed when I read about your multi-tasking! That's great! Glad you can run now, I'm sure you'll get your strength and speed back, hang in there. Lynne
