Not sure if this is the right area.. But, currently, I am 5'8 and weigh 225-230 (depending on day) I want to get down to 155. Will my skin shrink as well. I hear these horror stories of having all this loose skin. I think it way apply to someone who weighs a lot more than me and loosing a lot of weight? Anyone have advice??

At your age you will probably still have a fair amount of elasticity. If you have done a lot of tanning in your young life then this will cut that back quite a bit. Make sure you are getting some good supplements and eating lots of veggies. Keeping well hydrated and using some moisturizer on those real problem areas will help. I think the time frame is to give your body 18 months after you finish losing all of your weight to recover. After that, more than likely, what you see will be what you get. Toning exercises may help a little as well. Taking your weight off slowly at an even pace will help your skin recover well also. So, sometimes the "trying to get all of the weight off in 2 months" may not be the best option.
Hope that helps. ![]() |

I'm in my late forties. My skin has gone back in some places but is still in folds in others. I had one flap surgically removed. You are much younger. I think with slow weight loss (so skin will remain under tension as it regains elasticity, astringent lotions and exercise you will probably not have a problem.
Exercise is important for stretching the skin and for increasing blood flow to targeted areas. |
