I'm not sure, as I've never experienced it, but I wouldn't run on it until the pain goes away. Everyone says to apply "RICE" (rest, ice, compression, elevation.

Good luck, and I hope it feels better. I strained my inner thigh muscle a few weeks ago, and it's still in pain. I kept running on it for the first week or 2, but that probably wasn't a good idea.

I tore (almost severed) the ACL on my right knee, and it's far from just mild pain...... It is very, very painful to the point where i couldn't walk without my knee dislocating. I had major surgery and was in rehab for almost a year after. I doubt what you have is a torn ACL, but if it keeps up i would recommend going to your doctor or even a specialist. You may have just strained something.

By the way, how is the new job going?

It's actually feeling better. I ran 1/2 a mile today and i felt a mild pain, so i walked the other 1/2. Then i got lazy ahemm... excuse me i wanted to take it easy on my knee so i stopped.
I think its clearing up though. As for a visit to the doctor, i might hold that off for now, but if it gets worse i'll definately have to go.

Default Did i tear ACL???
Ive noticed some rough pain in my left knee when running on the treadmill lately. I took to wearing a knee brace for support and lately it lasts for all day after. I have to use icy-hot this morning. Has anyone torn their acl because i hope this isnt a serious problem and maybe it will go away soon. I havent been able to run today because of the pain, and i only was able to walk 1 mile before it got really severe.

at least a corperate resteraunt is better than flipping burgers or working at a car wash. That was awful work.

ACL is a common injury but there are dozens of things that can go wrong and cause pain in the knees.

I recently hurt both my knees on the treadmill. here is how I injured myself

1) poor fitting shoes
2) pushing myself 2 hard when I was clearly way way out of shape.
3) overwright and causing higher impact
4) weak muscles that werent able to support the knee properly.

not necesarily in that order.

I havent had the doctor look at my knees yet, because I dont have insurance, but ive been crosstraining with very low impact cardio machines and I think they are geting better. But like yours their is dull to sharp pain all day, although not constant.

You wont knwo for sure what you did to your knee without seeing a doctor, but its likely you over-stressed one or more of several tendons, or have some form of arthritis forming.

I recomend checking out runners world website for more info on injury prevention and self treatment.

I can't wait till my knees get healed up because I wan't to run!

you might have not tore your ACL. Did you hyperextend your knee? You might have stretched the ligimint.

I just saw a friend today who tore his ACL. He had to have surgery and will be out of work for several months. I guess it can be pretty serious.

Hope your knee is better.
