PH, what does it measure? If it doesn't have any sort of distance measurement, the calculate it as 15 min per mile. That's about the pace of a brisk walk.

FA, you get to "watch" us work-out, but we only see Richard (or that green guy )

Patty; I have to say that I just love these challenges. I like being accountable to the challenge. It literally gets me off my a**. It motivates me so much and I can't thank you enough for the challenges. I have never been self-motivated to exercise and this has helped me so much.

The clock shows Mins / seconds, then a figure 'count' and a small 'K', then a calorie count.

Don't know if that helps.

I thought so too, but the figure is 3347 k when I equate that it's 2079 miles... don't think thats right somehow!

Maybe it's 3.347 just no '.' but don't know.

I'll be able to add about 14 miles a week now (whether permitting)...I used to fight so hard to try to get in my six..and it made me feel horrible..it's turned into a joy since I started the diet(well after about the 3rd week)..I can't wait till it gets warm cause by that time I'll be dead sexy..and you know how the ckicks dig sweaty buff guys in red gym shorts cool2

Default New Challenge Details (Started Feb 12 to Nova Scotia)
Are you ready for the next challenge ?
The Mardi Gras Challenge is over. It's on to the next.

This one is going to be tough, but I know we can do it. We'll be breaking this tour into 4 "legs".

Leg 1 (2141 miles): - done
Nova Scotia Challenge
We'll by travelling by road from New Orleans to Nova Scotia (to visit our Canadian friends ).

Leg 2 (2690 miles): - in progress
Atlantic Ocean Challenge
This will be tricky because we'll be travelling across a virtual bridge that goes over the Atlantic Ocean! If we're lucky, we can board the QE2 for some gambling.

Leg 3 (353 miles):
Paris Challenge:
We'll be back on land in Brest, Brittany, France where we'll travel by road again to Paris.

Leg 4 (2109 miles): 7/3-7/25
Tour de France Challenge:
Tour de France! The actual tour is 22 days, but I don't think that is reasonable for us, unless get to Paris early.

http://www.letour.fr/indexus.html

Rules:
A thread for each leg will be started in the Fitness forum. When the mileage is met, I'll change the title to say "closed", and we'll start posting in the next thread.

Log your miles daily, weekly, whenever you want, then add it to the previous poster's total. The last post always show the current tally.

To earn miles, you can walk, run, swim, cycle, eliptical, or whatever other machine shows you distance. If your machine doesn't show distance (such as a stair climber), you can go by time. 15 minutes = 1 mile. If it's a stationary bike, it's 5 minutes = 1 mile. If you're machine shows kilometers then multiply it by .62. (1km = .62miles)

Try to keep miles rounded to the nearest half. The tally gets difficult when there's too many decimals.

Everyone is welcome to join at any time. We need every mile. We missed our December challenge by 100 miles. If everyone logged just one mile that month, we would have made it.

Thats a great way of thinking FA. Don't think ur dorky at all!

Might try that next time I'm doing Tae bo (later today) but hope you all don't laugh at me bouncing around my living room!

Had major achievement yest, managed to do 12 mins on my x trainer quick time.. Don't know how to read the 'count' K though. So can't add it in miles etc.

Any help / tips on reading the 'clock'?

The idea was a group effort. JJ came up with the Tour de France idea, which I loved.
