Friday

3 mile run in 32:11 (10:43/mile). It's 15F with a 6F windchill.

I ran the last mile as a "fartlek". This is a method of training where you alternate between fast sprints and slow jogs. It's supposed to help build speed (which I desperately need )

I did The Firm: Firm Cardio (60-min). This is the cross-trainer to the Firm Strength Video, but like many Firms, contains very little cardio. It's really a strength video that is named wrong.

Tuesday

3-mile run in 33:10. I really didn't feel like going out this morning and almost opted for the treadmill. It was supposed to be a "wintry mix" out there, but it turned out to be 19F and pretty calm. There was no snow or ice on the roads. The windchill was 13.

Sunday

60-min total body video and a 45-min aerobic video.

The first video was The Firm: FirmStrength. This is an older vidoe and one of the few Firms that use the barbell. Some routines need to be modified. They have a tendency to add some awkward movements in an effort to use their equipment.

The second video was The Firm: Tough Aerobic Mix. This is one of their "parts" videos, where they take the aerobic routines out of several other videos to make one challenging video. It's an old one, but I like a change of pace.

Monday

3-mile run. There's fresh snow on the ground and it's 15F (wind chill of 6, but it didn't feel windy). Still waiting to see if school has a delayed opening.

Thursday

3-mile run in 33:39. 21F and calm. I really wanted to sleep in today. This week's schedule has no rest days. Now that the run is over, I'm glad I got out there.
