Yes, you are doubtlessly gaining muscle, which we learned here is seven times as heavy as fat per volume. So do not be discouraged. I got really upset when I experienced a net weight gain earlier in the summer. But it was muscle mass. I gained a lot of it, but lost a lot of fat too.

Exercise will help burn off the fat, but there is going to be a period of exchange. It's worth the time spent. I'm happy that you are experiencing the physical improvements. I know I do not want to miss a day of my exercise program.

Good Luck!

Default Noticing the difference ...
I am really noticing the difference that regularly working out at the Gym brings. I go about 3/4 times a week and try to burn up 600-700 calories at a time, mostly on the cross trainer. I also use the weights machines to improve my muscle tone.

I have a 20-25 minute uphill cycle ride on my way home from work and it is getting noticaeably easier in the last week, and I am able to use higher and higher gears.

My weight loss seems to have stalled, so maybe my muscles are getting bigger/denser
