Teuthis, I have read from your posts your awesome 90 pound loss including "20 pounds of muscle"...that is wonderful. What my question for you is, how are you determining that you have actually gained 20 pounds of muscle? (I would love to know how much muscle I gain as I get more involved in my fitness program.)

I was measured as to body fat content, before I started Atkins and then recently. Also a physical therapist did some calculations that closely agreed with the tests. I thought I had gained about 12 pounds of muscle but it was much more. Everywhere that moves and flexes when I walk has increased in muscle mass. My calves, badly atrophied from not walking much at all for almost four years, have really grown again; as have my thighs and the muscles in my lower and mid back. I was hoping that because of my age I would not put on so much muscle any more. But I have. I am not doing any upper body exercise right now because of that. I really would like to be leaner with less muscle mass at this time.
Good Luck! ![]() |
