I don't see how an all natural toothpastye would be toxic in any way. i've never heard of a unnatural toothpaste without fluoride.
Again Dana... Most toothpastes contain trace amounts of chemicals that may be toxic when ingested; toothpaste is not intended to be swallowed.

What is natural toothpaste and unnatural toothpaste?

Personally I think the government ought to start putting fluoride in our tap water so people are ingesting it whether they want to or not.

Mine has fluoride in it, but I don't base my choice of toothpaste on fluoride. I just avoid certain brands.
Im a Crest Kid! and use nothing else

Kids swallow toothpaste all of the time and it doesn't seem to hurt them.
kids toothpaste doesnt have floride in them

Most childrens toothpaste does have fluoride.

Because there is some danger if your child gets too much fluoride, your choice of toothpaste is important. Keep in mind that most brands of kids' toothpaste are fluoridated. They just have different flavors and popular characters on them to make them more fun for children, but that doesn't make it safe for your children to swallow too much of the toothpaste. http://pediatrics.about.com/cs/pedia...tal_health.htm

OOOH one of my favourite topics after vaccination.

NO flouride toothpaste here I havent used one with flouride for over 15 years...and I have a water filter that takes it out of my tap water too.

Its a poison. We DONT need it.

Our tap water has only been flouridated for a few years. EVERY year the council held a referendum on it, and everyone voted NO

Until last year when they DIDNT do one, just flouridated the water anyway

oh...and my teeth are fine.

Why on earth would you cut Fluoride out of your child's life? You should be hooking him up to a Fluoride IV at night, it's the only sensible thing to do.

And what you wrote put it out there that all kids toothpaste doesn't have fluoride.

Most and that's a lot does in fact have fluoride in it. That's why they say to only dab the toothpaste on your childrens toothbrush when they're little.

Its VERY hard to find toothpaste here without flouride, and that includes kids paste.

When my kids were little I used bi-carb soda and water to clean their teeth.

Yeah, I know...but they got used to it....and it was only when they were little.

Note: Fluoride is safe in the amounts provided in water supplies but can be toxic in large amounts. Toxic levels depend on your child's weight. A lethal dose of fluoride for a 3-year-old child is 500 mg and is even less for a younger child or infant. Keep all products containing fluoride, such as toothpastes and mouthwashes, away from children. If you think your child may have swallowed too much fluoride, call your local poison control center or the National Poison Control Hotline right away at 1-800-222-1222. I trust WebMd when it comes to medical/health issues. That's where the above came from for those wanting to know about fluoride and children.
