Default Suggestions?
I have had two fingernails split into the quick lately. Any suggestions to strengthen nails. I keep them short by choice.

vitamins help.. However, I have to put a nail strengthener on my nails. They are brittle due to years of biting them

If you don't mind wearing clear polish, Sally Hansen Hard-as-Nails works really well.

As do prenatal vitamins... But I don't think you want to take those???

I've heard taking Gelatin capsules help also.

If it's broken and painful, crazy glue works for awhile until it grows out enough to clip.

take a omega capsule every day....at least a 1000mgs and vit D...if you are white take only 500mgs if you are darker skinned take 1000mgs, BUT if you aren't in the sun much and you are white you can also take the 1000mgs.

Vits D A and B are VERY important to healthy skin, nails and hair...and they also curb carbohydrate cravings, help you digest fats better and naturally help you lose weight.

If you don't want the shiny from the polish, you can use a growth treatment- it'll at least get that split out far enough that you can clip it. This is what I use- it soaks right in: Sally Hansen | Natural Nail Growth Activator Marine Extract Treatment

And crazy glue works wonders! I keep my nails fairly long and if it snags, I can glue it and it'll stay for a week or so until I can trim them all the same.
