Default 30-35 lbs total to lose--how long should round 1 P2 be?
Hi all-

Love this forum!! So much great info. I have been looking all over the forums for answer to this question but I just can't seem to find one.....I have 35 lbs to lose total--how long should my first round be? Do I even need to do more than one round? I know Grammie says 30 days is good for resetting the hyphothalamus so I was thinking of starting with 30 days. Is that a good length for losing 35 lbs? Should I wait and see how I am doing around day 23-30 and decide then? ( I am doing the drops...)

Thanks in advance for any tips!

No one can really guess how your losses will be. The average loss per day for women is .5 to .75 lbs per day. There are some that lose less and some that lose more.

If you are doing injections you can lengthen a round by skipping one day a week. That would give you 46 days of VLCD.

Per protocol, you can do a minimum of 23 injections or a maximum of 40, and you can lose a maximum of 35 lbs in one round. Within those parameters, you can choose to do any length round you are comfortable with. You can expect to lose .5 to .75 lbs per day on average during a round. If you're really lucky, you'll lose it all in 1 round, but realistically, it will probably take 2. Maybe you can make a goal of 20 lbs in the first round and 15 lbs in the second.

I lose right around .5 lbs per round. If you have 100 or more lbs to lose, you'll likely lose the higher amount. But with 30 lbs to lose, you might average the lower amount. I've also found that my body tells me when it is done with a round. I just reach a time where I can't do another day. Some people feel great and feel they can do P2 forever; I'm not one of them and you might not be either.

I have about 30-35 lbs to lose as well. I have decided to do at least 2 rounds of 40 days each. I feel like if I stop at the 1st round my body will just jump right back to old habits and that's when I will beging to gain the weight right back. Just my 2 cents

Personally, I would start with a 40 day round and see how far you get. It's possible you will lose 35 lbs and be able to keep it off in P3, by following the protocol, and P4 while slowly adding back carbs. That would give you an easy R2, or even none at all.

Happy Sunday to all. I am doing the rx subling starting the 14th. Can I do my first round beyond 40 days? Do I have to skip a day with the drops? Thanks, Kate

Some people skip a day to extend their round when they are using injections. Since you are using drops, I don't think you need to skip a day. But other people may have more information.
