We barely get enough vitamins on a full day's load of food, much less 500 calories and less. Metabolism is a very complicated, vitamin intensive process that you must supplement.
Pick whatever poison you want but vitamin supplementation is crucial. You wonder why your metabolism stopped working???? Maybe cause it has none of the tools it needs to work. |

Did you have yourself tested to see what vitamins you are deficient in? If you're too high or optimal in something, you don't need to supplement. Also, vitamins work together so it can be dangerous to supplement one without supplementing those that it works best with. And fortunately, I think you'll be getting some things from the fat that your body is burning as you lose weight. But if you are deficient, it can be very helpful to supplement. I know I'm often very low on iron so I monitor that and supplement when necessary. A lot of post menopausal women have high iron. And I take C to help the iron absorb and also to support my adrenal function. I'm also very, very low in vitamin D and have found that lots of sunshine and massive amounts of supplements have no effect on my deficiency. And I'm happy to say my B12 levels are great, but most women seem to have dangerously low levels and should get it tested.
