Default 503 calories for the day! Grissini?
This is my first day on VLCD. I am trying to stay under the 500 calories, but it can be hard. Also, where can I find grissini?

I bought mine on Amazon, a whole box, really cheap. And then I ditched them in week 2 lol
Anyway, check there.

And no need to count calories if you stay on protocol. Some days you may just over, some days you will be under. I think it is ok.

In Southern California, I find the Grissinj at Von's,in the custom bakery department. They have a Parmesan flavor that is the same calories, fat, etc as the plain and it tastes better. No slow down for me.

I find them in the pasta and spaghetti sauce aisle in the grocery store (Kroger and Meijer), not in the cracker or bread section. One of my stores (Giant Eagle) has an Italian section and that's where they are. I bought gluten free ones my first 3 rounds. I ate them and they were the highlight of each day. This round, I haven't eaten them and I haven't missed them. You want to buy the ones that are about the size of a pencil.

Depending on the size of your fruit and the vegetable choices you make, you probably should count calories as it is very easy to over the 500 by a lot. If you are choosing small pieces of fruit and eating lettuce, spinach and chard, you probably don't need to count. But if you are choosing our modern giant pieces of fruit and onions or tomatoes as vegetables, weighing and counting your food is wise.

Unfortunately, no stores carry Grissini. All we have around here are Walmart, Giant, Food Lion, and Save-A-Lot. I guess I will have to order them from Amazon.

I like counting calories because I need to find out how much of an item equals how many calories. I have never really eaten portions so I need to find that out too.

Thank you for posting replies!
